jmm vs hatton at 140lbs.

    just in case jmm moves up to 140, i want this fight to happen aside from pac-hatton...

    your thoughts about this fight?

    would be a great fight. i would think jmm would have to rely on speed and boxing. hatton would obviously over-power jmm. its a toss-up, but i still prefer hatton, especially seeing that his boxing skills seem to be improving..

    hatton is like 5'6 with 65 reach and jmm is 5'7 with 67 reach.. imo difference in size (and even weight) wont have that much factor in this fight, so it's still a tossup fight for me

    that's not gonna change much of the outcome.. Ricky will start eating salad.. get real angry about those two pounds he has to shed and beat the living **** out of JMM.

    Hatton would win largely based on size and strength, I doubt JMM's punches would have much effect on him. That being said Marquez is by far the better boxer.

    honestly? im not going to say i dont think JMM could win this fight... Hes a great boxer, accurate puncher whos accuracy and timing make him a potent puncher.

    Id favor Hatton to really outmuscle JMM... but what about JMM moving around, countering, using his superior boxing ability to set up traps, lay counters... circle out of the way, jab.

    I actually think this would be a good fight... i didnt see any ill effects of the 135 weight class on his debute for jmm... If he can establish himself there, and maybe have a fight or so at 140 i wouldnt mind seeing this fight.

    I cant help but think that Hattons pace, pressure and strength would carry him to a decision victory... but i have to admit i would not be suprised to see JMM box and counter his way to a close decision.

    Never thought about this fight before..

    If this happens and JMM wins! This win will put JMM ahead of Morales as far as resume is concerned! Ahead of MAB? It's another interesting thread!

    Especially if JMM beats HAtton and Hatton beats PAC. That's a very interesting scenario for JMM fans for 09'!

    Interesting matchup, I would favor Hatton but I wont be surprised if JMM pulls off the upset.
