Any heavy puncher who applies pressure and wear cleto reyes would just walk to a one punch thrower in paulie who has a right hand that has no power and so brittle. Not only that, he's too cocky like hamed but the difference with him is does'nt hold his promise. Just because he went to the distance with cotto he gets overrated. Shheesh he bored me, and what really agitated me is that he blamed hatton for clinching too much! Who the **** did the most clinching?!! Paulie is an entertainer but with that kind of attitude and brittle weak right hand, he doe'snt have a future against elite punchers of his era. Even better puncher-boxers would just eat his punches and maul him. So what's the point of him fighting? He can only beat b- or c-class fighters! What do you think?

Of course he has a future. He's beaten some decent names and has way more to offer the fight game. Just because he's unlikely to go down as a legend doesn't mean he should pack his bags and leave.

i know this sounds drastic... but im not into fighters taking beatings for just money.

He is a good talker, has good looks, is young.... i say retire, and get into being a boxing writer/analyst for a boxing site/mag and eather showtime or hbo... maybe try to get a position in GBP... ect.

Hes proven hes a good fighter, he rose to a spot in the sport where most people who lace up the gloves will never get to, made some decent money, showed he was a tough *******... have only lost to future HOF'ers...

Hes not going to be champion at 140... i think torres, holt, judah, witter, bradley all beat him.... what is the point really?

I say retire... but im just not a fan of fighters fighting on for really no reasons, ESPECIALLY a guy like malignaggi... hes young still, hes a good looking guy, good talker.. he has so much more he can fall back on. The other deciding factor is he will NEVER have a short night in a fight... he can never have a 'punchers chance', you know?

so ya... i say call it a succesful career and retire. Go to another avenue within boxing

Of course Malignaggi has a future left. He may never become a top pfp guy but 99% of boxers never do and I don't think we want all them to give up. Malignaggi has some decent wins, held a title, and his 2 losses are to Cotto and Hatton. That shows he's a good just not elite fighter. His division is full of solid fighters but without marquee names and Malignaggi is one of the biggest names at jr welter. A lot of the other top fighters will be gunning for him because of his name value. Holt, Torres, Bradley, Peterson, Urango, Aranoutis, etc. All these guys would get one of their biggest paydays against Malignaggi and I'd say Paulie has a shot in all those fights. I wouldn't be surprised if he grabs a title again in the next year or so.

Fully agreed. His right hand isn't exactly made for boxing either, it breaks when the other guy punches his chin into it.

Kirk I could'nt have said it any better, I loved what you said especially in regards that he will never have a short night and that only leaves more room for him to get hit with more punches. Again Kirk great post.

False, I think he can win more fights if he understand a very simple fact(And can use he right hand).
He needs to understand he has no power. He has less power in 140 than Ivan Calderon at 108. He needs to watch a few Calderon tapes and understand how to win a fight by boxing. If he keeps on insisting on trading, he is going to get permanet damage

Of course he still has a future.

Not as a top of the class fighter but he's certainly in the ballpark of the top 5 in his division. He's a great name on the resume none the less.

This thread is a joke. Of course he has a future. He just lost to the linear champ and Paulie was a title holder but he has no future? Please!
