The national sport of Wales (part of UK for some who don't know) is rugby union, this is unbelievably popular and as if not more popular amongst the average person than football.
Sports fan over here whether its cricket, football, rugby or boxing are fanatical despite the **** weather or even when we are **** at something!

what aload of ****, your sports dont mean more at all look at Football, people kick **** out of each other over this sport, you honestly have no idea, it dosent suprise me those because you are an ignorant american.

''Football is not a matter of life and death - it is far more important than that!''

Thats how most people see football in the UK.

Rugby is more popular in Wales than Soccer but soccer is very popular too, for instance Wales could play a match against a so called minnow and still sell out the national stadium with 70,000 fans! Even when as a nation we went through years of **** performances there were still 25,000 fans traveling across the Irish Sea to watch us play Ireland in Dublin.
We support our teams through good times and bad, thats why we are fans and thats part of the enjoyment. Believe me Wales have had years and years of being **** but the fans are always backing them because they are loyal!
If you just support a team because they are sucecssful you are not really a fan in my eyes, everyone wants their team to be successful but you don't drop because they are ****!!

Your talking rubbish, i can guarentee that sports well only football really are far more important to the society where i'm from (glasgow) than anywhere in america. All people care about is football. For example i spend about a quarter of my earnings on following my team celtic all around scotland, europe etc. Most of my friends do the same, i know people that have lost jobs, relationships etc on there love for football and going to it constantly. Its an obsession and i seriously doubt america sports instituions have the same passionate hold on a society like some football clubs in europe and south america have on there communities

ive said 3 times that soccer/futball is huge....
you never hear about people kidnapping people over basketball football or baseball ... i already said a bunch of time football/soccer is mad important

i agree..thats how sports should be but in america sports is more of a social event and less than a life style ... thats why in america when athletes/teams do well their super high on them but when they do bad... we get super down on them..

just look at the rise an fall of tyson for example .. he was a god when he was winning but he was a spectacle when he was losing... i live in miami and the miami heat won the nba finals like 3 years ago and during the year they won the championship they would sell out every game... now that they suck id be surprised if the arena packs in more than 10k per game... its just a part of the life style in america... results matter.. especially in high visability markets (new york, LA, miami)

i never one time doubted the impact of soccer/football amongst your culture.. if you go back a couple pages you can see i never mentioned soccer/football as being a lack luster sport in your society.... i mentioned cricket & rugby as being possible lack luster or under the rug sports in your society..

like in america.... soccer hockey & football go completely under the rug and dont get that much attention... compared to basketball football baseball

for the uk i would assume the main and most important sport is soccer... the sports that go under the rug are rugby & cricket..

really it doesnt even matter.. my point was that americans will not come to the uk to support a fighter or even watch a fight.... its too far, no fighter in american boxing is important enough to make the trip and i guess as some people are saying the uk is not enticing enough place to visit .. we are spoiled ass fans ... who usually gravitate to the best team, support the home team when their doing good but down them when their doing bad...

    its just how it is

What I will say is that a capacity crowd at Wembley with Hatton fighting, and a hyped to **** fight....is an atmosphere that would probably be unrivalled, ever.

Vegas would not hold a candle to that kind of atmosphere.

    thats my point...^^^

thats why I (as an American) would definitely make the trip ..
only thing that could compete would be a fight in like a stadium or arena somewhere.... but i dont think is a fighter big enough to fill up the arena

maybe floyd vs cotto with the most rediculous promotion ever @ yankee stadium

The point is Hatton v Pac at Wembley would be 80,000 and an incredible atmosphere. The dollar is worth a lot more against the pound so it wouldn't be as expensive for you. London is one of the greatest cities in the world and we have women from all over the world here. Admittedly we have **** weather a lot but London in the sun is ****ing brilliant.
