This thread is about the warriors, the fighters who took the big fights or at least try to take them. The one's who want to fight for a legacy, not for a phoney record or some easy cash.

A few shout outs (for contemporary fighters, you can also add retired fighters of course). The guys who make the scene worthwhile:

-Manny Pacquiao: he fought all the Mexicans and is now fighting a guy who has fought current LHW's.

-Ricky Hatton: he got in with the best and is now looking for Pacman/DeLaHoya (you need guts to fight Pacman, and for a junior welterweight, you need guts to fight DeLaHoya as well).

-David Haye: He's not wasting his time at heavyweight, he wants the biggest fights and will even smack talk in his sleep if that's what it takes. Calling out Wladimir was something, but calling out Vitali to his face is even crazier, especially when he knows that there's a good chance of the fight being made.

-Bernard Hopkins: He's taken a lot of prime fighters. He took Winky Wright after Winky beat Mosley twice and Tito once. He fought De La Hoya, Glen Johnson, RJJ in the golden years, Antonio Tarver (after he beat RJJ twice). When a 26 year old Pavlik was being made out to be the man to beat, he took him even after being beaten by Calzaghe earlier in the year.

de la hoya should NOT be on the list after what looks like a run of fights against Forbes, Packman and Hatton. He's ducking pretty much all his own size nowadays

Oscar continues to be the best at taking the tough fights. Hopkins too. Calzaghe of late and factor in the fact that he's the only undefeated P4P Top 10 at the moment.

Um, no. And no to Calzaghe too, although he's improving in this sphere.

DLH, Pacquiao (who is RIDICULOUSLY ambitious) and Haye are the current frontrunners. Beibut Shumenov could be a future one. Oh, and JMM.

Do you know how long it took him to muster up the courage to get his ass whooped by Mayweather? He was all "I'm not ready yet" and such and such like it really mattered. But really, who has he ever fought besides Mayweather (loss), Tzsyu (wrestlefest), and an ol' beat up and shot Castillo. Outside of that, not much really and it pales in comparison to that of DLH.

took on a world title contender in his 11th fight....and lost. came back and won the title in paris getting of the floor to win and then became undisputed in 22 fights.

now going after the two hardest punchers in world boxing despite the fact hes clearly going to get smoked.

hes a credit to the sport. to many haters here are to quick to point out faults and not smart enough to see whats right.
