On a perfect world he would go for Froch to eliminate all talks but...he could have done that already.

    Great fight.

The next best thing after Kessler-Taylor and Bute-Andrade II.

I'm not sure exactly how it would go but I know they are two ways to beat Bute.

Relentless pressure and a good jab. If Taylor can establish his jab. He could cause Bute a lot of problems.

Funnily enough, that's exactly what it takes to beat Taylor as well.

These guys strengths and weaknesses are so similar, the fight would be a battle of wills. Whoever goes in most determined and executes the best is going to come out on top.

Bute wins. Taylor barely beat Cory Spinks for Christ sake.

Styles make fights. Spinks makes guys look bad, and on top of that knew his chin was weak after being sparked by Judah, so he ran away for 12 rounds, potshotting Taylor.

Besides, your argument is flawed because if we're judging on Taylor's past blemishes, we also have to judge on his past accomplishments, which are three highly competitive fights with Hopkins and Wright.

I agree. Close fight that is decided by where it takes place. Not because of judges (hopefully!), but because of all the disadvantages the visiting fighter has to deal with.

Im going with Jermain Taylor on this one just based on the levels of quality fighters he's face then Bute. Bute is a good fighter but I don't think he what people make him out to be. Bute never face anyone like JT before and he would diffidently have his hands full. The only real problem with JT is stamina issue but I think he would improved that if this fights happens. But other then that Im going with JT by UD.

As far as I know, it isn't certain Bute is fighting Larsen next at all. And who is there out there more interesting than Bute or Kessler for Taylor to fight next?

Bute may have time to make 2 optional defenses. Larsen first, then Taylor. Or Taylor first, Larsen second. The number one spot is empty at the IBF, that leaves some time. The IBF may demand a fight for the mandatory spot. They still haven't announced it. Purse bid, etc. Bute-Andrade II in one year, if Bute is still the champion.

If he fights 3 times next year, the third one should definetely be a mandatory(probably Tsypko vs Andrade)
