So, it seems the Taylor hype won't ever return, excellent.

Now we can commense with reality. I'm so pleased to see that in the wake of his good win vs. Lacy that things have kept grounded, though, getting KTFO by an average champion like Pavlik will do that.

So how do we see him at SMW? I actually like his chances vs. a few guys such as Inkin, Bika, Mundine & especially Froch.

I've got Bute, Andrade and obviously Kessler pasting him though.

    Discuss.

  2. Taylor would absolutely school Froch in my opinion.

Right, hear me out though. Andrade is pretty good, better than you would think and pressure is what works best vs. Taylor. Not the ineffective pressure that Lacy put on him, but a constant workrate of pressure like Andrade will.

And Andrade definitely will eat what Taylor throws, he ate Bute's best(who can punch)and Kessler's best(who can definitely punch) very well. He also wore Bute down, who has shown mostly good stamina and tactics and almost KOed him late... he in fact did KO him, just too late.

You get where I'm going though? Taylor could get worn down and stopped, his mentality and power aren't as good as Bute's, possibly not his chin either. Bute has a great chin.

  4. How exactly? Like Bute? Taylor has shown against Pavlik he doesnt like pressure - so against someone he CANT hurt like andrade - he'll be in for a long night, and Taylor has shown he can be hurt - and put down for good before... He may be ahead on points - but he'll do very well to avoid being stopped..

I agree. Froch has no workrate, no pressure and is slow. It'd be a one sided outclassing and I doubt he has the power to simply put a fresh Taylor away.

The thing with Andrade is though.... yes he has one of the greatest chins period, but that should start to show some cracks in it any time now... He takes waaaaaay too many punches, he is my boy at 168.... but i cant just continue thinking fight after fight that he can keep relying on that chin, over time his punch resistance will go down, imo....

but anyways i guess thats besides the point, i do think he could and would beat taylor, i say lets make it happen.... after andrade takes care of bute AGAIN... let him at taylor, i think he would overwelm taylor but i could also see taylor pretty handily outboxing him, not sure on this one....

You picked Taylor to beat Bute by close decision in an analysis thread.

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105837

I guess you'll have to decide whom you dislike more, Bute or Taylor; you cannot dislike both equally in this case, I'm afraid...:verysad

  8. Even when I think of Kessler fighting Taylor I cringe, that could be a real car crash.

  9. Sorry, I stopped there...

I take that call back. Aren't we allowed to re-assess fights?:blood

And Bute would get Taylor, possibly by a late TKO, if not a good clear UD. Southpaw, fast, good stinging combinations should do it and I don't think Taylor can hurt Bute.

I don't dislike any fighters, except for Julio Cesar Chavez.

The fact of the matter is, Jermaine Taylor is back but this time without the hype.

    "And that's a good thing"

Kelly Pavlik has just been exposed and looked like a complete ******/stupid fighter.

Bernard Hopkins, technically abused Kelly Pavlik.

Kelly Pavlik should run back down to 160, the **** looking ******* will be murdered at 168.

Jermaine Taylor has never been exposed, he has been beaten, but always puts up a good fight, a good solid fighter..speed..and the man can fight. And i still say it now, he can still beat the sh*t out of Kelly Pavlik.

I agree that it was clear from the Lacy fight especially that Taylor is working on adding some Hopkins stuff to his arsenal.

jermain's a solid fighter and so is pavlik but i'm not convinced they are any more than that.

but don't forget guys like bute, kessler and froch haven't got the 'stripes' either of these have earned.

Calm down there....Pavlik will do just fine at 160....:yep
Bernard took him to the wood shed but something wasn't quite right with Pavlik....not saying he could ever beat Hopkins but he had no snap on his punches none of them.....probably a combination of not carrying his weight to 170 too well and not feeling too well....I'm reserving judgment over his next couple of fights....:good

Who is there to fight at 160..no one care's.

Kelly Pavlik is a **** bag, for going back down to 160.
