I would sway towards mayweather just, hopkins resume is no where near as good as some on here seem to like to make it out to be. He has longevity though and does get major props for beating pavlik but i think floyd has as good as resume and prime mayweather (eg at 130 some people on here obviously need to watch floyd at that weight as they clearly they never have) is a better fighter than bernard IMO

Mayweather hands down. He has fought fighters bigger than him and won, and has NATURAL boxing ability.

One thing I like about Bernard is that he challenges anyone out there BUT he plays it EXTREMELY safe in the ring to the point where he barely fights. Feigns low-blows to get time to rest, headbuts and is generally a dirty fighter. He does whatever it takes to win apart from actually fighting. His biggest wins have been against people alot smaller/weaker than him (Pavlik, Trinidad, Oscar etc) Hopkins has built a whole career taking absolutely no risks whatsoever in the ring and that's why he's lasted as long as he has.

I voted PBF because of natural ability, he's a more talented fighter than Bernard. But a very strong case could be made for Bernard as well, it was a bit of a tossup.

Disagree Floyd is overrated at 147. Against a prime Tito @147 it's a toss up

Well, fair play & well done to Hops for that but the reason that Mayweather hasnt had to make comebacks is simple... he has never been beaten in order to make that comeback.

Hopkins doesnt retire every 5 mins & is currently seeking to fight the best unlike Floyd... I will not even try to deny this but the simple fact remains that when they are in that ring.........

MAYWEATHER IS A BETTER BOXER THAN HOPKINS... Its as simple as that & for those idiots that say he hasnt accepted any real challenges, both Hatton (unbeaten at the time) & DLH (bigger guy) were massive challenges & who seriously believes that Cotto, Margarito or Williams would beat Floyd ?... I dont... but Im with most of you on the fact that he is robbing us fans of some special fights by not fighting them.

I voted Hopkins. As of 2005 it would have been Floyd, probably. However, beating Tarver, Wright, and Pavlik, losing a close split decision to Calzaghe, all while being over 40 years old... that has increased Hopkins' stock quite a bit.

Go back and read the news from the times he fought these people. Tarver was regarded as easily the top Light Heavyweight, and Hopkins had not crossed 160lbs in well over a decade. Winky Wright was a guy people said could not be figured out, that his defense could not be cracked. Calzaghe is an excellent undefeated fighter who knows how to fight. Kelly Pavlik was undefeated and had been knocking out the competition. These, all four, were legacy fights.

Your mising what he is saying or i think he was trying to say, that tito was a 147 to 154 fighter moving up to middle when he faced hopkins. So i think the point was that floyd best was at 130 so someone of trinidad ilk from 122 to 126 moving up to super feather would have been utterly destroyed by floyd worse than hopkins did to tito

In terms of ability it's Floyd but that doesn't make him the better fighter. **** Zab is more talented than Hopkins
