in what way is he physically limilted.... like i said ive seen him fight his whole career and he was never quicker or more explosive than he was against pavlik..... why dont all of you give examples on which fights he was consistantly better quicker or more explosive than he has been the last couple of years...

B-Hop's only past his prime as far as stamina. He's just as savvy and ringsmart as ever, uses movement and footwork as well as anyone, and is probably stronger, pfp, than when he was at MW. Just ask Calzaghe and Pavlik's face.

He's not "shot" period, even if he is old and past his prime. He looked worse against Calzaghe because Calzaghe is a far better fighter than Pavlik. Is that so hard to comprehend?

Why people who call themselves fight fans don't understand this is beyond me. Calzaghe's bizarre style gives fighters fits- even Hopkins. Pavlik is come forward, straight-up as a tree. He was like a free lunch to Hopkins .

He was able to do what he did against Pavlik because of how limited Pavlik was as a fighter. Watch his fights with pretty much every other top fighter aside from Pavlik over the past few years, he's never looked that good. That has to do with the opponent moreso than anything, surely you people should realize that.

Watch his 90's fights, such as against the likes of Johnson, Jackson, earlier blowout wins over lesser fighters where he showed why his nickname became "The Executioner". Not as intelligent and experienced as nowadays, but far more physically gifted.

He also had much better stamina and ability to keep up a good pace throughout a fight, along with a much higher workrate than he's had over the past few years, something he just couldn't keep up against a guy who pressed the fight like Calzaghe. He was able to dictate everything against the one dimensional Pavlik, which is why he succeeded so well.

Not remotely. "Shot" should be filed alongside "hypejob" and "exposed" as one of the most ridiculously overused expressions on ESB.

I have most of his fights.

While I agree with your point about him being at least close to the best he has ever been, he performed better over the 4 fight series of Echols II, Holmes, Trinidad and Daniels than he did aginst Calzaghe/Pav. I consider that to be his "prime", although the way he is performing now he may be one of the first fighters ever to have two primes! :yep

Also possibly the Joppy/Allen III two-fight series was overall better performance-wise than the Calzaghe/Pav series.
