I think Kessler would drive forward and Bute would counterpunch. Bute counterpunches even against fighters who would rather counterpunch...so...

I think Bute would be the one controlling the range of the fight, but obviously, Kessler would be controlling the pace. Bute would tag Kessler from distance and Kessler would have to respect his power. Bute wouldn't follow up much, though, because he wouldn't want to get close. I think his movement would be quite a lot like his movement against Andrade, in many respects. I think Kessler would definitely not win every round. Andrade took off 1-3 rounds and Bute would get 2-3 too, unless Kessler goes in very strongly, giving all he has to get a stoppage mid-fight.

I'll stop here...don't want to overdo the analysis for this fight. I'm saving myself for when it's on the cards.

Yeah, that's a good overall look at the fight. Kessler's been stepping up his offense lately, incorporating the uppercut as a consistent part of his routine, that's likely his most powerful shot. Kessler is also increasing his bodywork and taking more risks.

He could very well come right at Bute, or Taylor. Aren't Bute/Taylor fighting?

Bute wins that by my estimation, so we'll have this one on the map.

Taylor v. Bute can go either way. I've been making the best case for a Bute win, but realistically, objectively, if anyone has the slight edge, it has to be Taylor. Big fight experience goes a long way and as we've seen against Andrade, Bute is still quite raw tactically. Taylor on the other hand has really impressed me with his tactics against Pavlik II and Lacy. He's back with his old trainer now, so he's getting better again, thank god!

Yes, I thought so initially also that Taylor's speed and experience would be the deciding edge. But Bute's stylistic advantage can't be ignored, nor his size advantage.

A fast southpaw is trouble for Taylor to begin with, throwing Taylor in with one who has good power and excellent timing/speed combination like Bute may be the perfect oppurtunity for Bute, as Taylor's open for his straight left hand better than some of the others at 168.

Taylor also cannot hurt Bute. Andrade could and kept the pressure going the entire fight, that makes fighters who don't respond to pressure well, like Bute, unravel eventually. Taylor doesn't present that problem.

I'd in fact favour Andrade over Taylor also.

I am more confortable picking Andrade against Taylor than Bute. The more aggressive Taylor is, the higher the chance of him playing right into Andrade's hands, whereas Bute might be put off by Taylor's aggressiveness and activity and/or might also be outplayed on the outside, whereas he wouldn't have the firepower to keep Andrade at bay indefinitely. Andrade would eventually grind him up and you'd have to fancy his chances of getting a stoppage. True, Taylor has an inside game and Bute doesn't, but he doesn't have the power nor the toughness or stamina to keep it up effectively for 12 rounds against a big, strong and very tough fighter like Andrade.

Taylor v. Bute? Apparently DiBella's looking into it. Obviously, if Interbox can get the money together, they'll love this fight. They've been waiting for a big American name for Bute for a long time, and you don't get much bigger or better than Taylor. Fight would be in Monteal too...but the ref and judges would be American...so...Bute wouldn't get any advantages except home turf.

Calzaghe if he's fighting there. Kessler if Calzaghe isn't.

Calzaghe is a level above Kessler, then Kessler is probably two levels above the rest, though it would be interesting to see him fight Taylor.

think kessler will beat froch for sure, he wont murder him though, think it'll be a tough fight. Bute however, well he'll get KTFO imo, dont rate the guy, think he's in the same band of fighter as Edison Miranda, everyone raves on about, but never make it and just cant compete on the big stage. I know there is still way more to be seen of bute, but this is just what i believe.
