http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7753584.stm Shame for Enzo thats 3 setbacks hes had since the Haye fight
i'm gutted was looking forward to this fight. Might do enzo a favor in a way because i got the impression he was going to go in there and have a war and as buncey said to him on thursday just go in there and box. a warm up fight might do him world of good although from what i saw of banks i think he could win even at 70%
What exactly is the reason of Banks pulling out? :think Too bad for Macca, he did sound confident in the last days. I doubt they can find a suitable CONTENDER for the vacant title... it's either a tune-up or no fight. BTW Alexeev is the highest rated contender below Banks and above Maccarinelli. Saturday is out of the picture for Alex, but WOW Maccarinelli-Alexeev would be a fight! Maybe sometime March next year?
No reason given but looks like whoever he'll be fightin(if atall)it wont be for the WBO strap which is gutting for him I just hope he gets an opponent.Thats better than not fighting again
what a crap article. i follow teh bbc site closely and they are fond of rehashing the same story over and over. dont even mention banks apart from one sentence. all about enzo's super punching power!
Thats a good point though they obviously dont have a great deal of information on Banks and why he withdrew
At this stage of the fight it has to be injury. Looking forward to this too. Can't see a fight happening as it's too soon for anyone to step up and be competitive.
Oh wtf! I was looking forward to that. The article doesn't even give a reason. I suppose Enzo's been in intimidating shape recently so maybe that's had a hand in it. I can't see any decent fighters wanting to step in at this stage. Enzo will be wanting to tee off against someone.
franks second ppv back with sky now being billed as macranelli v bobby gunn 2 the return. get your PPV now for this riviting rematch. and steve foster v peter cook for the intercontinentalbilingualmulticuturalboxervdeadman championship of the world
I suppose, just clutching at straws really. The article doesn't mention an injury or anything though. Is Khan on the undercard for this one? I might get it, but isn't it on the same night as Froch on ITV?
I'm sceptical too - got a press release saying he'd pulled out of the media work out, but nothing about the fight itself. The article is a pathetic rehash of numerous press releases, so i'll wait i think.
