Hopkins definitely deserves a rematch with Calzaghe. Not only was the fight close enough that many fans and critics on both sides of the pond scored the fight for Hopkins - but Hopkins hasn't been sitting around whining about it. He went out and fought the man that Calzaghe was more than likely going to fight next in Kelly Pavlik. Hopkins put on a dominating performance - while not knocking Pavlik out - he did knock him out of contention to fight Calzaghe. No disrespect to the young fighters coming up - but there will always be another young lion on the horizon like Chad Dawson. At the moment there is no interest in a Calzaghe/Dawson fight. Joe needs to rematch Hopkins.

The reason Joe will more than likely not rematch Hopkins is because he knows the first fight wasn't easy and a rematch won't be any easier.

Yes. That's why most people watch boxing. That's why big talkers (Zab Judah/Ricardo Mayorga) are able to consistently land big fights and make big $$$$ despite losing. People like being entertained.

As goes with gatti and others.

    No.

and Calzaghe is not giving it too him, because their first fight was one of the most boring fights of the year. He cannot justify to his fans to be in fights of such poor quality. Even the RJJ was more entertaining and the Kessler fight was a gazillion time more exciting. Hopkins did not want to box just to survive by holding for the last 9-10 rounds.

No is my answer, I felt Joe clearly won the first fight 8 rounds to 4, and not only that but Hopkins in the second half of the fight fought disgracefully by faking low blows and hugging all night.

mayorga and gatti are entertaining in that respect but judah is a supreme talent who never lived up to his potential.

but its his effort against cotto which put him back into the frame for me.
