The catch weight was agreed at 147lbs but during the actual fight how much should odlh and pac weigh to be competitive.

or for some it does not matter coz they truly believe pac has no chance..

    discuss..

I think Oscar will weigh about 153ish, and Pac pretty much on 147. I think even on 24/7 the other week, before Oscar did 12 rounds of sparring he was 155. So I can't see him being higher than this come fight night, because he'd have lost a few more pounds between then and Saturday.

    It will be competitive.

I don't think Oscar will weigh 160 or more. I think it would be about 154-158.
As for Pac, I can see 1 pound under or over 150. BTW, I tought catch weights were for any weight not in a weight class, or does it apply to any one fighting outside their normal weight now?

IMO, pac should weigh max of 149 to 150lbs..anything over that will make pac sloooow. It's going to be an easy fight for odlh if pac comes out slow..

    shorter reach
    smaller in height
    then... slow

IT's GOING TO BE AN EARLY NIGHT for PAC If THAT HAPPENS

On the other hand, if PAC comes out blazing with speed and power.
We've got an interesting fight ahead of us!

    Cheers!

when he is done training and rehydrates he will be as big as possible probably 157-160...pac will be 148-150...IMO 10 lb difference...he had a 13 lb adv on PBF

if dlh has a min of 10lbs ++ weight advantage.

    Logically speaking..
it's extemely difficult for pac to hurt dlh due to about 10lbs or more weight advantage during the fight night. while its easier for DLH to hurt pac due to the 10lbs weight advantage
(as previously elaborated by divac in a separate thread)

i'm not thinking logically, some how I have this strong feeling that pac will pull an upset!:D

I think you're overstating the weight advantage. Obviously more weight will make Oscar take the shots better (well you'd think so), but I think too much weight will be detrimental to Oscar. He needs to be as fast as possible for the fight, given the speed of his opponent. And as history shows, weight has never been as important as it's made out to be these days.

thus, the importance of maintaining a good balance between speed and weight. remember the formula for force is mass x acceleration. bigger mass (heavier weight) but slow speed may just feel like a push while a smaller mass (lighter weight) with greater acceleration may knock you down. which is the reason why a bullet kills while a bowling ball might just give you a lump. hahaha..

the punching technique is also important as there are arm punchers, and there are those that can put their entire weight into the punch, i.e. Tyson as compared to the really big heavyweights.
