He's European and never fought on American TV, so he isn't one tenth the iron-chinned world class technician Miranda is. :-(

if he had fought 2 more times it would have been fine.

as it is 2 fights is average .

many of the posts show that many posters still do not understand how big the european market is.

kessler`s fight against haussler went out prime time on a saturday night .

would need to see the german viewing figures but i would guess it got between 3 and 6 million viewers.

as far as i understand it the biggest boxing event of the whole of 2008 in america not on PPV was 2 million this year .

so exposure wise he did fine.

as to 2009 it will hard for kessler, as i feel all the up and comming
american 168 fighters will try to avoid him and pick on one of the other beltholders.

taylor v kessler is the obvious fight .

but negotians might be hard , as taylor will not travel outside of the usa , even wants calzaghe to come to him, and kessler might have to take a pay cut to go to america and fight him over what he could get in europe .

Sean thats fine he made alot of money, but he didnt make any waves....If Kessler wants to set back and fight guys that he knows he can beat then that fine let him be the second coming of Sven Ottke, just dont talk about him as if he is making moves in boxing and how elite he is...Until he fights top elite fighters he wont gain the credit that his fans(not him) seem to be so hungry for....

Kessler has shots to take on bigger names, and make some waves, as it stands other fighters are starting to pass him by, in terms of fame and acclaim..The clock is ticking tick.....tock, tick.....tock...

Fighting Miranda and Green wouldn't be equally Ottkeesque? Run a poll of who thinks either of those guys would beat Kessler, you might have a few muppets voting stupidly but the WHOPPING majority will tell you that neither fight is any closer than the Sartison or Haussler fights were.

Oh that is bullsh*t....Look at the credit that AA got for beatting Miranda who was a hot fighter at the time...Green would smash both those guys that Kessler beat and would have made much bigger waves...Haussler is crap and Sartison had never even won a fringe title.

Who (outside of Germany perhaps) would have known if Dimitri Sartison was the name of a boxer or an icehockey player before Kessler met him?

    Noone!

A Miranda fight and a Green fight would have made much bigger waves and would be fights were much more people could recognice the guys in both corners.

Abraham is the best middleweight, but he's not perfect. In the first fight, for whatever reason, Abraham wasn't careful enough and Miranda smashed his jaw, and AA still won convincingly. Then he came back and demolished the much lesser fighter. Who gave him credit for the second victory? It was unfinished business, it erased doubts, and it propelled him into the consciousness of the American TV public. It was NOT a challenge. He dominated and raped the living **** out of Edison in their rematch; it wasn't even close. Who do you remember giving him credit like it was some big obstacle? He did what he was supposed to do.

And Green is Miranda's *****. :yep

IMO sartison was and is a good fighter /good skills and talent.

i posted of him in the euorpean section of esb long before he was an oponent for kessler.

haussler i have always said was protected and was no match for kessler.

my point was not about how competitive haussler was but how big of a marketing ploy and exposure kessler got fighting him in germany,

way more than he would have got for fighting in america.

i watched abraham v miranda 2 in america and it got a tiny american tv audience and a very small crowd.

to the few americans who watched it either live or in tv abraham got exposure , but it was not exactly a coming out party.

the american market for european boxers is still quite poor as every crowd/tv audience has shown recently.

kessler can go to america but i dont think he can crack what little market there is there at the moment.

alan green i like as a fighter and as an orrater.

but has he beaten a single fighter ranked in the top 20 in the world at any time in his whole career.?

but we will see where kessler goes this year, hopfully taylor will fight him .
