they both went to war. Froch went at him from the first second and pascal did not back down. Its rare to see two fighter at world level exchanging bombs for nearly the full 12 rounds. Pascal was pretty good defensively because he was slighlty faster than froch, but froch was defninately the heavier handed. Was a bit concerned that froch was running into a number of shots, credit to his iron jaw that he was never hurt. Froch should try to get a fight with taylor next for some stateside coverage.

Froch is going on A class, while Pascal is a mid B class fighter. I think the credit given to Pascal was a bit too much, yes he is a good fighter but he often through wild punches, he had power, strength and a good chin but he will never hold a world title with Froch, Kessler and Bute around.

I think a bit of both.

Froch has been spoonfed a few guys with padded records or on short notice, which can prove misleading when looking at his KO ratio.

    Pascal was good defensively, however.

WHAT A GREAT FIGHT, suprised at some criticising Frochs power etc or callin them b fighters. This was an A* performance from both, so much heart, it was like watching a rocky movie. Best wishes for Froch and Pascal, your both warriors and both a credit to boxing.

You can't tell me Omar Pitman has more power. Besides, Froch did have the power to hurt Pascal, he did so on one occasion when he landed correctly.

A lot of things go into scoring a KO, not just raw power. More concerning for Froch are the attributes that are going to score you a KO at world level like faster punches, timing them well, not telegraphing them etc...

    Froch A

So what, he's just like a half level below the Calzaghe, Pacquiao's, Mayweather's of this world?

I mean what level was Duran? He must be like an A++++++ by this scale.

It was two lads trying to prove that they can compete with the very best. Neither man let themselves down in my opinion. Froch might just look better against a better opponent, the same could be said about Pascal. I doff my cap to the pair of them:good

It was the 1st that i have seen of Pascal, but he is a skilled warrior. He caught Froch with his best shot several times but it wasn't quite enough. Froch is a bigger puncher but it didn't work for him tonight. Froch could be undisputed, but he has a lot to do. He wasn't great tonight, would have paid for the fight though!:happy

Agreed on this. He took some real shots tonight and never gave up or tried to stop winning. Very impressed with his will in this fight, as well as his beard and resiliency.

Both have ver good chins, Froch in particular. However on a skill level is where they fall short of the very top level. I would pick Jermain Taylor to outbox both of these guys as would Kessler and Bute.

I would really love to see Froch take on Sakio Bika, which would be an entertaining fight.

The other guys that will be stepping up to the top level soon will be Andre Dirrell and a little further back Andre Ward, Marcus Johnson.

I am wondering what will happen with Jean Paul Mendy's career and Allan Green as they looked to be coming up to world level but have been very inactive.

Then of course you have the limited but very entertaining and iron chinned Librado Andrade and the WBO champ who is still unproven for me Dennis Inkin and also his next opponent Karoly Balzay.

There are some excellent fights to be made here and I hope promoters are not too shy to make these matchups.

    :good

There's a lot of talent hanging around 160-175, and plenty just at 168. Let's hope that the promoters and the networks step up and get good fights made.

Froch is clearly a better fighter than he is a boxer. Top class entertainer with a solid chin and lots of power and heart, but he needs to mature in terms of speed, movement and defence.

Pascal needs to improve by utilizing the jab more and maybe increasing power. With these minor changes he could be champion.
