Is this fight now not considered a mismatch?

Pac is arguably the best p4p now, Duran is an ATG p4p period. Pac dosn't bring anything Duran hasn't seen at 135. Not a mismatch but a win for Duran, by probable KO.

Yes Duran fought loads of men with the same speed/power combination, same athleticism, same workrate as Pac from a southpaw stance :patsch

Duran wins but it wouldn't be easy and Pac takes a few rounds, I also see it going the 12/15

It's just as much of a mismatch as ever, the fight with De La Hoya holds absolutely ZERO bearing on the outcome here.

You would have to fancy Duran in this matchup. Though Pacman's new style would better his chances.

Spot on. Great win for Pac against DLH but Oscar looked old and weight-drained; picking on the smaller man bit him in the arse in the end. Pacquiao would be competative in spurts against Duran but largely outclassed imo

Duran by decision or late rd stoppage. Think what the Duran who beat Leonard in the 1st fight would have done to DLH, However Pac is a great fighter who seems to be getting better and better.

Competitive fight for as long as it lasted. Duran's defense and power would tell in the end.

Mismatch? Not quite overall, but it would become one.

Duran of course, although Pac's presence would be felt.

Duran mid to late rd stoppage. Pacman couldn`t hurt him, not even a little. So Duran would have no respect for him and just walk Pacman down. He`d rough him up inside, bang that body, take away his legs. Then finish him off. People tend to forget how incredible Duran really was...

Could go either way. Manny never stopped hitting and most importantly , never stopped moving.
Pressure was not the way to beat Pacman.

Standing in front of him at mid-range, allowing for an even pace isn't the way to beat him. You pressure him smartly you take away his momentum, i.e. his primary tool. There are plenty of ways to beat him.

I always picked Duran in this match up, but the more I see of Pacquaio against pressure boxers the more I give him some sort of shot. The more you try and hit him the more countering/punching opportunities he has with his fast straight punches and he is very very fast. If you show him movement and force him to make him errors and look for counters you can make him look foolish but if you fight him square on you at least give him a shot even if you are more skilled because Pacquaio is such a fast puncher.

    i agree , Duran's opposition (@ 135 & 140) was not on Pacquiao's level .
de best 135 suited version of Pacquiao can hit Duran hard and fast enough 2 make him seem quite ordinary . He gets hit he gets down , even if his name was Duran . And Pacquiao's chin is usually under8ed , yes , i saw him getting stopped 3 times , 1ce from a low blow , 1ce while being drained , 1ce while Marquez stepped on his foot .

And I do not rule out Duran using PEDs either . Just much lesser PEDs than d 1s Pacquiao used/s obviously .
