He could've landed if he could actually throw. He didn't throw a single left hook upstairs all night, and his jabs were all pawing range-finders. A couple of right hands were okay, but his right hand is pretty poor.
Delahoya, Looked bad against forbes before the pac fight. At least jones beat trinidad in better fasion than delahoya beating forbes. Calzaghe would beat a prime roy anyday if calzaghe was in his prime. The complete fighter.
Neither is more "shot" than the other. They both are past their prime, but both were also ridiculously overrated to begin with.
Trinidad was shot himself. WTF does beating him prove you idiot? If you really think a prime RJJ loses to prime Calzaghe.. I don't know what else to say.. you're beyond help..
If you would like to present your argument of a shot fighter concerning De La Hoya, I would have little ammunition to fight you on this one. Unlike Roy Jones, Oscar rarely landed power punches, or even through a nice flow of punches, his body language was awful, he was on wobbly pins throughout and appeared he wanted to quit in the 6th frame. Yet give the current pound for pound credit, Paquaio seize the moment and destroyed his opponent relentlessly.
They have both been shot by the same gun. Although RJJ did connect with a few good punches in Calz and even managed to knock him down. Someone really should shoot ODH whats with all this bull**** ''im in the best shape of my career'', ''i feel great'', etc etc etc.
Look at that score - I bet you're cursing yourself for making this poll now!! Your career on here is just lurching from one embarrassment to another, isn't it? Jones hasn't won a fight at the top level for FOUR YEARS, several years ago he was knocked cold twice by guys he would've annihilated in his prime, then dropped down a level (or two) to fight non top 10 ranked guys, then was dominated and humiliated by Calzaghe - if Joe had an ounce of power in his punches he would've knocked him out considering the level of punishment Jones was taking. Oscar took the world p4p#1 to an SD 18 months ago, beat Forbes arguably more convincingly than Berto did in Forbes's next fight (and Berto is supposed to be the next big thing at ww), and has never been knocked out except by one of the greatest fighters of our age at a weight that Oscar couldn't handle - a far cry from being sparked by guys like Tarver and Johnson. Oscar simply ran into a truly special fighter. Loving these threads Pugilist, keep them coming thicker and faster than Joe does when your gub is tightened around his shaft.
The poll figures are what I expected. It`s always been obvious there are more Calzaghe haters on here than Pac haters, hence the voting.
Jones jr. he was a long time ago different if your opponent is giving you a beating grandpa jones looking great against grandpa tito doesnt (thought they retired??) mean he can bang with the active fighters. Styles makes fights. Pac definitely figured DLH from the start (good job Freddie) great common sense:good
Nah, you're just a prime example of a Calslappy fanboy pumping up Jones to make your man look better than what he is. Face it, JC is just not that good.
