Anyone know if ITV have more Froch fights

Don't know what ITV have lined up. I can't recall seeing other Hennessey fighters on ITV so perhaps this was sold as a one-off.

That said, I agree that there seemed to be a real buzz about this around today from people who are not usually boxing fans.

Fighting a live contender for a recognisable world belt on terrestrial TV, having won British and Commonwealth titles with people talking about it - got to be good for boxing - and unlike the good old days no Gary Newbon climbing into the ring to ask ridiculous questions.

ITV have a deal with Hennessey, 26 promotions over next two years.

I think Hennessey knows, that going to Sky / Setanta he and his fighters can make more money, But ITV will have treble and more the amount of viewers, so that outweighs the diffrence in money they would get fighting on Sky/Cable.

 

Hennessey had one of the last deals with the BBC with his 'Class of...' promotions.

Froch was one of them if I remember right as well as David Walker. Any remember who else?

Clashes with Klitschko Vs Rahman on setanta though but might be able to catch most of 1 of the 2.

Then Holt Vs Hopkins (now) decent night of boxing this saturday, could do with staying in saving money for xmas.

 

I'd love to know what the viewing figures are.

They used to have those double page advert in the BM a few years back.

 

I remember David Walker. He boxed the hard way.........taking as many punches as possible. Gutsy but limited.

There was a guy called Beardsley who seemed to be on every time even once he saved the bill by taking on Howard Eastman, and getting battered.

Matthew Thirwell was another.
