Without ever being stopped? Time erodes great chins. Even chins the level of Ray Mercer have gone the way of the dodo with time. Combine a long career with not being a good enough fighter to even a fraction of your bouts, the abuse you took in dozens of losses, said fighters usually being fall guys that take fights on short notice... Well, they get all the respect in the world if they can maintain never being stopped throughout their entire careers. So, who? Rarely stopped fighters with tons of losses are good as well. Marion Wilson is a great choice here. Absolutely no power, small enough to fight as a 190 cruiserweight. 41 losses. Never stopped. Maybe the premier resume in regards to top fighters fought. Absolutely EVERYONE that was a heavy in the 80's to the late 90's fought him. Fought until nearly the age of 60, facing Oliver McCall twice back to back in that time period. Consider that Mercer's chin gave out before he was even 40. Danny Blake - 45 losses, never stopped. Fought all the way from 155 (A pound over the lightmiddle limit) to a very fat 220 pound heavyweight. Randy Smith - 33 losses, never so much as dropped as far as I know. Fought everyone from a developing Hopkin's to Eubank and McCallum. Felipe Torres - 70's lightweight. 18 losses, never stopped. Fought a green Roberto Duran. Billy Graham - 15 losses in 126 bouts. Never even dropped. Fought Basillio three times, Giardello three times, Gavilan four times. Tough son of a *****. Carlos Peralta - 20 losses in a 108 fight career. Only stopped once towards the end of his career. Genzo Kurosawa - Ultra tough 70's bantam. 26 losses, only stopped twice. I think one of his stoppages may have been on cuts. Went the distance with Danny Lopez, one of only thee fighters to ever do so. Paul Bonson - British Cruiserweight still fighting today. 104 losses in 132 fights, only stopped 3 times, which may all of been on cuts. Black Bill - 20's and 30's flyweight. 159 career fights, 29 losses never stopped. Bill died only three years after his fight career ended... He was going blind from a veneral disease. Bill eventually commited suicide.
Ralph "Tiger" Jones - 50's and 60's middleweight. 32 losses in 90 career fights. Only stopped once a bad cut.Fought Laszlo Papp, Bobo Olsen, Kid Gavilan three times, and many other good fighters.
Wilson's record is crazy. McCall has to be considered...even with that one stoppage loss. Edit: No he doesnt he didnt have a lot of losses compared to these guys. My bad.
Eh, Lennox never even buzzed him. It could have been a NC just as easily. I don't consider a TKO without a cut or any damage what so ever being inflicted a actual stoppage.
After losing to Bradley Pryce in a round, Good old recently retired Peter Buckley lost 107 fights without being stopped.
Kid Gavilan had about 30-something losses in 100-something fights I believe, but was never stopped. Even more amazing is that he fought two fights with Ray Robinson and a host of other fights against big punching welterweights and middleweights. He even fought a genuine light-heavyweight once.
