More Impressive... Pac beating Dela or Jones beating Ruiz?

Jones beating Ruiz because it hasn't been done in 100yrs <---If this is wrong please correct me. Ruiz was not a shot fighter plus he was the WBA champion and for a guy to start his career at middle and win a Heavy Weight Title thats really impressive.

 

People will look back on Pac's win more fondly, no doubt about it.

Really looking at it though it is a bit closer then it appears. Ruiz was the weakest champ at the time more or less however he continues to be a top rated heavyweight if anything doing his better work after Jones beat him.
De la Hoya will retire and wasnt even a champ, so looking at it that way you can see why its not such a wide disparity between the two wins.

That being said...Pac's domination was more impressive in my opinion.

who the hell would have pride in beating Ruiz? i wouldnt if it just so happened... it was a great accomplishment for Jones to win a heavyweight title and all but like i already said...:hi:

Pacquiao's win over Delahoya is a great win because Delahoya really was supposed to win that fight with all of the advantages he had over the Pacman.

 

I think Pac's win over De la Hoya is better than Armstrong's "win" over Ceferino Garcia. It is close to Jones' win over Ruiz and Duran's win over Barkley.

 

Jones beating ruiz was more impressive. The version of de la hoya simply wasnt good enough and ruiz had a belt at heavyweight.

I see you what some of yall coming from by Pacman win was more impressive but Ruiz didn't have to lose a great amount of weight to fight jones. It was jones that to gain a good amount of weigh to fight Ruiz. I agree that Ruiz was the weakest of Heavyweight but still moving up to Heavy weight is way more impressive then beating a weight drain Oscar that was complete shot.

 

yeah youre right, i was just talking ****. but i really believe that Pac beating Oscar beats that fight.

This wins are all in the same level, more or less:

-Jones' win over Ruiz
-Pacquiao's win over De la Hoya
-Duran's win over Barkley
-Carpentier's win over Levinsky
-Hearns' win over Hill

 

Can't agree with that one. Carpentier was already fighting and contending at heavyweight at that time, so technically he was coming down in weight (though practically speaking, of course, he was never more than a natural light-heavy in his career). In fact, he even had been credited as being the "white hope heavyweight champion" already. Levinsky was considered a vulnerable, past-prime champion, and Tex Rickard set up the match mostly to showcase Carpentier, and also so Carpeniter would have a title going into his eventual superfight with Dempsey (so that it could be a "champion vs. champion" match).

The others I do agree, were all big feats of varying amazement.

 

For me it was a no brainer, Jones beating Ruiz eclipses Pacmans win against DLH.
