what if Pac losses to hatton first? Will Floyd still take a fight with him...? Doubt it. If Pac wins though, which i think he would, it would fatten the purse against Floyd. I think taking the risk is worth the reward.

Floyd didnt fight DLH at 147 he fought him at 154 and there was a provision the contract so that oscar couldnt blow up after the wiegh in..7 pounds might not sound like a lot to you but just ask ricky hatton about the difference

There's pros and cons to fighting Hatton first.

Pros: chance to win another belt at another weight (against the man at the weight unlike against Diaz)
if he wins it builds up a potential Mayweather match even more
new fan base-a lot of British people don't follow boxing but know who Hatton is so it would add to Pacs following as it did to Mayweathers
imagine the confidence that he would ooze especially if he looks good winning

Cons: it really is a must win for Pac-if he loses then the fight of the decade goes down the pan

More pros than cons but the con almost outwighs all the pros. For the record I think that a fight against Hatton is pick-em. At the moment I favour Hatton. Think Floyd snr may have something up his sleeve for this bout.

    no it doesnt

if hatton beats paqman floyd might as well fight hatton in a rematch in the uk.... it would make more sense then fighting paqman again

if floyd beats paqman ... he just lost to the bigger better guy and the hatton fight still makes the most sense...

if he fights hatton first he risks throwing the fight with floyd out the window if he loses

  5. It's smarter for Floyd to get the first crack at Pacquiao because of his inactivity. Whoever Pacquiao fights next won't be until April or May. If he takes Hatton first, we wouldn't see Floyd in a ring until late 2009 or he may just never come back at all

The money will be big either way. If Pac ever fights Mayweather regardless of what Pac does before he fights him, the money will be extraordinarily big. Although I think a fight against Hatton will also do big numbers, it would probably do even bigger numbers if Pac fought and defeated Mayweather first.

One way or another all three of them will become much richer in 09.

Your are deliberatley missing the point because you are only thinking what suits Floyd.

From Pacman's point of view it makes sense to try and get 2 huge paydays from Floyd and Hatton,if he takes Floyd first and loses then the payday for Hatton goes down the pan, the same as if he first loses to Hatton but the fact remains the best chance to get both paydays to to fight the least risky opponent first and then that would even increase the money that could be made on the second Floyd fight.

It just doesn;t make business sense, what happens if Floyd wins against Pacman and then retires. The income for the second fight to lost completely. The networks won't allow it.

Not a very convincing argument you have but whatever....we will see what benefits Pacman the most by seeing which choice his people pick,it will be Hatton unless Floyd takes a paycut an that wont happen.
