from an outsider looking in, the future of american boxing looks very bleak. you don't have any decent heavyweights, the era of mosely, hopkins, jones, de la hoya is coming to an end, PBF is in retirement, and the likes of pavlik and taylor look very beatable.

my knowledge of up and coming american boxers is not great (though i noticed you sucked at the olympics), so i'm hoping some of you knowledgable fight fans can give me some insight into who the next generation of american superstars are going to be?

I agree the kid looks talented. Might add the Petersons to the list.

I think this is partially what makes them exciting to watch.

"Mean" Joe Greene faces Martinez for wbc light middle interim title big jump but he is a mean puncher

Alfredo Angulo takes a big step up when he faces mayorga next its going to be good fight

I've seen Ortiz a couple of times and he reminds me of Cotto with his style. Seems compact and powerful but also quick with the body shots. I don't think he will be a big star, though. He will make a name for himself almost certainly, but I think he will fall short of the very best of his division. Out of interest, where did his loss come from?
