The guy has no defense. He blocks too many punches with his head. I am worried about his health 10 years from now.
True enough. I think Adamek is a lot better fighter when he boxes. He was great against Bell, the speed advantage and pedestrian effort from Bell exagerrated things, but it was still impressive. I'd rather Adamek just fought like that, he's way to willing to brawl. Always been his problem.
a) agree b) Adamk fought 4 fights at Cruiser and this was his first brawl ... with this ratio he should be rather safe. He probably brawled because Steve is too good boxer to beat him by only box him. I don't see other Cruisers with as good as SC boxing skills. So in the future its pretty obvious Adamek will rather use more boxing skills than brawling.
I would agree that Tomasz is a bit undersized for a CW. If he came in shredded, he would probably be something like 185lbs. Even though he is holding that 15lbs or so of fat, he seems to be in good shape regardless....I wonder how much he has to eat to stay at 200lbs when training hard for a fight?
I think Adamek is targeting fight at HW next .... as being "undersized" it wasn't a real problem against Cunnigham and definitely not agiant Bell.
tbh watching the fight he had a good polish following and i think he got caught in the moment and went to war plus he had to engage cunningham in a brawl as that was only way he win imo. your right though i do agree he's defence is poor but that can be improved if he wants it to although i doubt he will.
Its not like Cunningham has no skills and was not able to hit Adamek at all. In the brawl fighters supposed to be hit and hit back. Not all Adamek's fight are brawls but they are more memorable to the public. So Adamek is seen more by the Briggs/Cunningham performances than by Bell/Ulrich where he used nice boxing skills. The fight he lost (with Dawson) he fought wrong fight ... he should actually brawl instead box.
Adamek is a true Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. He boxed, jabbed and moved against Bell not allowing himself to get hit and then goes on to fight flat footed and straight forward against Steve.
