There is a lot of screaming for a rematch. As a fan of boxing and the Cruiserweight division why wouldn't you want a rematch! That was one heck of a fight both fighters put on. I just saw the post fight press vid and Adamek got asked about a rematch. It seemed to me he was avoiding saying yes. As a Champion why wouldn't you say "I'll fight anyone" There would be more $$ in a rematch then him fighting GJones to try and unify at this point. HBO and Showtime probably would pick this fight up. Steve proved to America that he is an exciting fighter...I'd say rematch!

    Thoughts...

i wouldn`t say no to wanting to see a rematch but after they have fought someone else like cunningham v big mac for wbo and adamek fighting jones or fragomeni for there titles.or vice versa.
then who ever comes out with the belts fight each other.
    that would liven up cw.

There are other fights for Adamek but a rematch would be good. But not an immediate rematch

That Frogomeni dude is fightinh Wlodarcyzk. Adamek could fight Wlodarczyk in Poland to unify titles, that would be a big fight.

Team Adamek wants a Dawson rematch, and are hoping for some All-Poland matchups with Kolodziej and Wlodarcyk. Also, Adamek wants to unify the division.

i wanna see rematch myself, then have the winner fight Haye's son Enzo since he's probably the best cruiser in the world....

btw did that French Mr. Universe lookin ass Jean Marc-Mormeck retire?

He did mention he wants the money fight which is TV. What fight out there for him right now would be a money fight. Dawson would be good. But I don't think Dawson would do so. He wants Joe! Adamek v Wlodarcyk I can see but the rematch makes sense to me. Especially when Shotime and HBO want the fight....

Yes a rematch may yet happen (and would be another great fight), but Cunningham's team made Adamek wait, so in all probability Cunningham will have to work his way back up the ladder himself.

An immediate rematch is unlikely IMHO.

I'd prefer to see some other matchups for Adamek right now. The fight was close but the result is not controversial. Of course if Cunningham continues to win fights a rematch would be nice.

I heard somewhere that a Mormeck/Tiozzo fight was a possibility.....

As for the rematch..... it was a great fight between 2 of the best in that division so the likelihood of that happening is good... If Adamek were to fight Guillermo Jones, it might happen on Showtime... Remember, Guillermo Jones fought a war the last time he was on there... Immediate rematch~?? WEll, the IBF been acting funny this year so I doubt that happens... They might tell BJ Flores and Marco Huck to fight each other or something... Then BJ Flores will say I dont wanna go over there to fight...

Whether immediate rematch or an eventual rematch, it will come.. It'll have to come...

:dealSomeone who know's what they are talking about...

Adamek isnt the first fighter to say "it depends on what my team or promoter wants".Keep in mind that King screwed Adamek in the past and they do have a history(which is why King delayed this fight as long as he could in turn hurting Steve)..he did the same bull**** when Adamek was with him.He lost well over a year of activity simply because King wasnt making fights happen.Adamek also beat Con King on thursday and i know for sure it's in the back of his mind.

Rematch would be great. Will it happen? Probably not. Cunningham is falling victim to the curse of Don King. The thing with King is that he gets you paid, but only gets you paid once a year if you're lucky.

In an ideal world we'd see a March or April rematch, then a unification bout by in late summer of '09. Doubtful.

The Cruiserweight divison is stacked and the top guys should take advantage by continuing to fight each other.

Maybe he was holding back his thoughts when asked the ? I don't know. He has a very dry personality and is hard to read. Anyways if he goes and fights Wlodarcyk in Poland I would like to see USS fight Guillermo Jones. Then rematch and unify the belts. Just an opinion that's all. I still think in the Cruiserweight division despite the loss they are still #1 and #2 respectfully. With Adamek #1 of coarse...but with a slight edge :D

Like I said on the express thread.....

Tomasz shouldn't be giving Cunnigham a rematch anytime soon.
There are quotes saying that the fight will have brought attention to CW etc, well I for one don't think it's Adameks job to light up every division he's in.
2 potential FOTY at LHW with Briggs and now one with Cunningham at CW, never mind a brave decision to fight the hyped up and comer Dawson when he didn't need to. I think it's time Adamek took some plain old mandatories and settled in to CW.

To many wars aren't good for longevity and health. He can wait a while before taking the rematch for big money after he unifies.
