True. If the Klits weren't exsisting the HW division would offer more exciting match-ups. The problem is not so much Arreola, it is that the Klits are too good.
Wlad's greatest achievement of the night, far greater than besting Rachman, was not laughing in Max Kellerman's face when he he brought up Chris Arreola as a possible opponent. Wlad truly is a very focused, disciplined individual.
:huh No ****. They're running a business are they not? He's the only halfway decent American prospect and Mexican to boot. What's the problem here? They want ratings.
Arreola is ranked #2 by WBC (probably #1 considering his most recent victory) ... he's ranked #4 by the most recent IBF rankings ... Arreola is ready for a title fight ... and considering that HBO wants an American star and that Klitschko is HBO's HW champion ... they should get it on. I'm sure the network is pushing for it. Thats the reason why Eddie Chambers, Tony Thompson, and Calvin Brock were put on display over the past few years ... because there is a desperate need for an American HW champion. Thats why the HW scene is in disaray ... because the networks aren't going to put much money into HW champions from Europe.
HBO fighter or not, Arreola is a legit contender and would make for an exciting fight. I'd like to see him fight another top10 guy first, though.
who cares? kellerman is one of the best guys on hbo, granted arreola couldnt compete with klitchsko, he just threw his name out there. who cares. give the guy a break, hes better to listen to than jim and larry
:good:good Gold, man. That was awesome and you are totally right on. Thanks for that comment! :thumbsup
Arreola's got technical skill and experience but likes to brawl. Arreola says he likes to get hit and has monstrous power. And he's even got some decent ring intelligence. If he were to get back in shape, I think he'd be the most credible threat to Wlad out there. Let's face it. Noone in the division right now is going to out-technical Wlad ( except maybe Vitali and that fight will never happen ). So a power puncher who is willing and capable to take a punch or two in order to give one might be what is needed to provide Wlad with a decent fight. If not Arreola then who? Haye? Probably the next best chance, but I question if his chin is up to the task. Valuev? Only if Wlad is completely unable to wrap his brain around facing an opponent who is that much taller and bigger than him. Povetkin? No chance. Wlad would brutalize him.
Exactly. Arreola is an undefeated prospect, despite Klitschko being significantly better than him. It was within reason to mention his name for sure.
