Hopkins knew he was losing. Anyone who is delusional enough to think he won should watch is pitiful attempt to get Calzaghe disqualified by faking the low blow. That's not the behavior of a boxer who thinks he's winning

yeh i basically meant joe didnt look that good and he found it difficult. hopkins antics were a big part of this and he turned it into an ugly ugly affair. but i could see no way hopkins was the winner. i heard from some cleaner punches..............i was watching closely but it was a myth. yeh early on he would have a clean punche then holding...etc but this 'he landed the cleaner punches' is misunderstood. saying that calzaghe couldnt get of hes clean punches and alot of them were pitty pats

YES, JOE WAS MADE TO LOOK SOMEWHAT AMATEURISH IN PERIODS OF THE FIGHT!

As was he in the Kessler fight in periods.

However, he looked amateurish in the same way Michael Johnson looked amateurish when running 200 meters and 400 meters. If you know Michael Johnson, you know what I mean.

115-112 in Hopkins favour. I've watched it several times and can't score it any other way, Bernard out-skilled the slapper.

Amazing how people forget how surprised Calslappy was when he got the decision, and his old mans rants about how he needed a knockout to win (from the 10th round onwards)

lool interesting point. I wasnt being that critical but joe said himself he found it tough in there and what i was saying was he didnt look that good....im not saying hopkins looked good but hes 'tactics' were a big reaosn for this

i had for b-hop by one point, haven't rewatched it yet though....i could see how it can be scored for calzaghe though, i just felt hopkins was doing the more effective punching and calzaghe was doing ineffective volume punching. it isn't always about volume. b-hop needed to throw more punches though and woulda won if he did. there needs to be a rematch if hopkins is as active as he was against pavlik he'll beat calzaghe but calz wants no part of that rematch

you must have been high on drugs each time you saw it! and to me hopkins face in the end showed someone who knew he lost. Hes spoiling tactics really brought the fight down and it was a scrappy, scrappy fight. hes 'old man' enzo was motivating saying you can knock him out and the hbo crew were all confident calzaghe won. and you say out-skilled....i looked for this but that simply wasnt the case. hopkins won the dirty tricks battle and by the end was holding so much, i felt it was kind of a disgrace to boxing. i know hes was 43 but id advise him to quit than bring the fight to those levels

i certainly dont want to see a rematch mate! it was rubbish to put it bluntly. I understand what your saying in regards to its not all about volume but hopkins at times did nothing at all. It would be throw a punch...hold...30 seconds later...throw again...hold. i looked for the effective punching but it certainly wasnt what it was made out to be.

    Yeah right son.

Watch the fight without the Calslappy goggles on. Hopkins owned the first half of the fight easily and had a knock-down in the bank. I readily admit that Calslappy had the better of the second half of the fight, but he landed nothing significant.

The HBO commentators all thought Hopkins lost...well the British commentators all thought Hopkins had won. I suspect Hopkins gets a lot of hate in America for some reason.

How many fighters have you ever seen that were "winning" a fight had to resort to desperate attempts to get their opponent DQ'd late in the fight by faking low blows?
