How good would Toney have been if he had B-Hops work ethic?

Toney seems to be just plodding along for the pay-days now and I can't remember the last time he came into a fight in even halfway decent shape.

However, I can't help asking myself how good he could have been and that even with all that he has achieved from the sport he has sold himself short? I think he had the potential to be a 'great' rather than just very good, I'd be interested to hear other views.

If Toney had a B-hop like work ethic, he would have been dominant, and probably never tried to be a heavyweight. Probably stopping at about light heavy. He still would have lost to Jones. Toney's style does not handle movers to well.
We would have been able to see a B-Hop Toney fight (which I think B-Hop would win due to rangey-ness and more versatility)

Toney's laziness is a real shame. He's one of the most naturally gifted fighters; and he wasted it.

I agree that he would of struggled with Jones no matter what. I would however have backed him to beat B-Hop, although I think it could have been an excellent fight.

A would have also loved to have seen him in with Eubank and/or Benn.

Toney is the most naturally gifted fighter from MW upwards in the last 20 years. More naturally gifted than Roy Jones. But terribly lazy. With B-Hops work ethic he could have become a top10 ATG. His run at HW is disappointing, yet he's a fat MW able to compete with legitimate HWs (in a weak HW era). Toney never reached his full potential but considering the whole of his career he's still an ATG.

Yeah, Toney was full of so much potential - he threw it away by being a fat, lazy slob. He certainly could have achieved soooo much more.
