present some problems for pretty if he uses it the way he used it against oscar. he never stayed in the pocket with oscar and was very fast with getting out the way which i think would be a problem for floyd cause floyd likes to sit on the ropes absorb some punches then retaliate but doing that against manny won't work cause manny wont be there to hit and he himself is pretty fast with his punches too. it would be interesting to watch

He won't fight like that with Pac-Man I can tell you that much. Just watch how he fought Judah and you'll understand he stays in the middle of the ring using his footwork to his advantage. Only times he's ever really sat on the ropes were against slow fighters like Baldomir and De La Hoya because he can just counter punch. I see Mayweather getting hit a few times in the early rounds but he will figure out Manny by the mid rounds and control the fight to a UD

mayweather is not a one trick pony and knows how to set up traps properly and still can box. he is not old and past his best like oscar was and the fight would in no way resemble the oscar fight. he would be able to fight in the center of the ing against him and not have to sit on the ropes or slide around.

This is why I favor Pac. He's gonna fight Mayweather at angles and he is busy enough so present a problem for Mayweather being able to fire off. We've all seen that if a fighter is busy Mayweather is almost totally defensive. Pac won't be coming in straight at all. Of course Mayweather can do something to offset this but it will be interesting to see if he could weather a storm that lasts 12 rounds instead of the first six.

Mayweather only becomes defensive when he has to worry about a fighters power and the fact the guy he's fighting is bigger then he is. Floyd is bigger then Pac, faster then Pac and probably hits just as hard if not harder then Pac.

We all saw how Pac struggled with a counter puncher in Marquez, why would Floyd be any different when Floyd is superior in every area?

if this fight happens Floyd is going to outbox Manny to a UD or maybe even stop him late.. don't get me wrong I am not underestimating Manny.. and I picked him to beat oscar! I just cannot see him beat floyd

I see Floyd winning this fight.

Manny's speed and pressure will give Junior some problems early on but Floyd will adapt and win. Manny has a tendency to jump in when attacking and whilst he is very quick and usually effective with this i see Floyd being able to time him coming in by rounds 4-6 and then starting to slowly but surely pull away on the cards.

If a very good technical, counter punching boxer like JMM can give Pac a close fight then one of the best ever technical, counter punching boxer's who is bigger than JMM will beat Pac.

I also think Floyds punchers will do more damage to Pac than Pac's will to Floyd.

jmm is willing to take shots to give some where mayweather is not willing to take any

Which is why Floyd will practically get a shut out against Manny. People seem to think Pacman has the ability to adapt but other than the knockdowns in his fights with Marquez, he came off second best in the majority of rounds. I thought he lost both those fights, and although it hurts to admit it, Floyd is a superior boxer to Juan Manuel.

True. Mayweather is a cautious fighter but he did take more risks when he was fighting in the lower divisions. Ok, you wouldn't mistake him for Margarito but he was less cautious. He has become more cautious and throws less leather as he has moved up in weight because the bigger guys can hit harder. Manny is naturally smaller so his punchers won't do as much damage so i think if Floyd gets tagged and he isn't to shaken up by it he may open up more like he used to and take more risks.

yes you could be right but on the other hand floyd is also much like oscar a part time fighter where many is constantly busy not only busy but taken on competive fights too.

    That is a good point.

In Floyd's defence he is like Hopkins in that he stays in tip top shape when outside of the ring but he does rely on his reflexes and even if he is still training whilst retired nothing will keep your reflexes as sharp as good, regular, competitive boxing. It could be a problem for him against the quick Manny.

I hope the fight does take place. Would be very interesting. I will be routing for Manny but i still think Floyd will take it. Would be good to find out for real though. Lets hope the fight does take place.
