Question for Pac-man fans.

That is exactly it. Pac has the tools and style to beat Floyd (or atleast push him to the brink) but i to feel he is just to small.

Castillo and Mayweather were similar sizes when they fought and DLH was bigger than Floyd so that gave Floyd problems. For me Pac is just to small for Floyd and that will probably be his downfall.

 

Because he is Pac. Unlike ya boy, Pac's made a career out of doing the unthinkable. And don't get it twisted, on paper Floyd should be the favorite. But given what he's done in his career, you would have to be nuts to dismiss Pac's chances. Physically, stylistically...Floyd should take this one, but when have we heard that one before in regards to Pac opponents?

 

actually, it's 5 titles in 5 divisions w/ 3 lineal titles.

well, 90% of boxing analysts and fans didn't see pac winning against dlh either.

how do you envision floyd winning? he won against hoya SD where in fact pac tkod hoya?? pot shotting, shoulder rolling, running away wont work anymore with a faster, movable, stronger, super stamina of the pacman. :hey

 

Ok this is how I envision Pac winning---Stylistically, Floyd is actually not that similar to JMM. JMM backs up about 2 inches evrytime Pac throws with the intent to fire back counters in combination, meaning he isn't nearly as defensive minded as Floyd. JMM will always be able to hit Pac more. I would call Floyd's style as potshot and run....which is great on piling up the points and winning rounds against slow, plodding, and predictable opponents.

Floyd's problem is, Pac is neither slow nor plodding, or predictable. In fact, one could say Pac is boxing's premier offensive force. This isnt Hatton coming at you in a straight line. Pac will be coming, bobbing and weaving, in-and-out, throwing combos with bad intentions, with speed and quickness. Has Floyd dealt with something like that? Closest one I could think of is Zab Judah, and like it or not, Zab gave Floyd problems till his expected mental breakdown. Pac has no mental lapses, he will be still trying to knock you out all the way to the 12th round even if he's down 11 rounds. That's the kind of fighter Pac is,....and for the first time in Floyd's career he'd be facing someone with a mixture of all those physical and intangible attributes.

 

Pac just proved he was on De la Hoya's level and that's being polite. That win doesn't guarantee a victory against Floyd but it should be proof that at least it won't be a mismatch like a lot of people envisioned before, the same as they envisioned Oscar to wipe Manny out. Manny showed that he's got a shot against Floyd. He is certainly above guys like Zab, Baldomir, Mitchel, Brusseles, etc.

That means that Marquez is himself underrated, IMO. I kept hearing before the Oscar fight the reasoning "if a guy like Marquez could rock Pacquiao, imagine what Oscar would do with his left hook." Oscar couldn't do **** because fighters like Pacquiao and Marquez are simply better skilled.

IMO, Floyd would win a close decision.

Wake me up when Floyd fights a boxer more skilled and equally dangerous as aboxer like JMM. And Pac has fought the guy twice.

I wouldnt count Pac-man out completely but if Mayweather shows up & performs like Mayweather then I expect him to pull away from Pac-man after an even 1st 5 or 6 rds.

I see Floyd figuring him out & beating him on basic boxing skills.

 

Floyd and JMM have very different styles. Floyd used a shoulder roll defence while JMM is much more textbook with both his hands held up high. JMM also likes to throw in combinations and control the range while Floyd is more comfortable staying in the pocket and picking off his opponent 1 punch at a time.
