Yeah but no one really gave Hatton a snow balls chance in hell to win that one...I mean, so did but it was evident Floyd would just be too SKILLED and FAST for Hatton.

Manny is just as fast.....maybe not as skilled but he'll have the edge in power. Manny vs Mayweather is a harder fight to predict although logic points me towards Floyd. But with Manny Logic isn't always your smartest bet. I lost $50 bills bettnig agianst Manny vs DLH and lost $200 on Manny vs MAB......I also lost money on the EM fight....after that I began betting on Manny and have won some of that money back...unfortunately I just couldn't make myself bet on him vs Oscar and everyone knows what happened there.

I truly believe Roach when he says Pac hits harder than PBF. I told everyone the same thing before the DeLaHoya fight....He just seems stronger at those weights.....

    X factor baby!!!!

You made those points quite well, but when you look at them, theyre not really correct. Or at least not adequate refutations of my post.

Firstly, allow me to apologies for my initial 'ignorance' comment, as I have a feeling that was responsible for the excessively hostile and defensive tone of your above rant.

Now, yes, BHop struggling with Taylor and ***** slapping Pavlik does to an extent come down to styles. However, it is also quite obvious that Hopkins has improved and morphed a little stylistically as he's gone up to light heavy. It's not just the move up, it's also him trying to combat age, and perhaps just not having to kill himself to make 160 that allows him to do better at light heavy than he would at middle weight. The point is that fighters evolve. And going up in weight asks you to reassemble your weapons to suit a different pace of fight, and forces you to develop new ones. When fighters fail at moving up it's typically because they dont meet this challenge. If you don't like the BHop example, pick another - Mayweather, Arguello, Roy Jones, Jeff Fenech - the examples are abundant. Fighters moving up change out of necessity.

With that said, I cannot but disagree about PAC displaying nothing new compared to any other fight. His footwork was MUCH different in the sense that it was in this fight the key to his competiveness at this weight. When have you ever seen have that evasive? When have you seen him fight as a boxer puncher, rather that a brawler who happens to have amazing boxing skills? He was waging a different war..
Part of why I consider him an X factor is because DLH was is only one, hopelessly shot, test and we'll still need to see how he fares against other fighters. However, it was still DLH and PAC pummeled him and looked beautiful in doing so. He can't do much more. But the general point is that PAC IS changing as a fighter, even if that means simply developing skills that were less required at 130. He will simply have to do this because he is not the same entity at 140/147 that he is that weight.

I don't know what compelled you to state.. 'there is no evidence that suggest that a fight with Mayweather will equal the results we all witnessed vs DLH' ..as I didn't say that. What i'm telling you is that PAC is changing as a fighter in keeping with going up in weight, and the endpoint of that evolution has not been reached. What I believe is that with the skills he displayed against DLH, and some more improvement/getting used to fighting heavier guys, he can beat Mayweather.

It is a little bit more sophisticated than 'your concession that you never know what's going to happen' would suggest. Sorry.

Mayweather will come to fight, something oscar didn't do. I really like pacman but he will come unstuck against the best fighter we've seen since young jones jnr entered the ranks.

Agree with everything youve said here. Theres a couple things you can decipher from watching the second marquez fight and the diaz fight. Firstly that diaz is not elite level but is a decent champion. Secondly hardly any jab, jab straight left hand combinations from pac in the diaz fight. More picking of shots in the way of a lead right hook or left hand. Diaz was a decent champion and pac made him look 'flat footed' in the words of steve bunce. Alot more countering from pac in the diaz fight. Pac systematically broke down diaz over the course of 9 rounds rather than just looking for the knockout punch.

Roach is probably right in saying that pbf cant simply sit on the ropes hoping to counter (altough floyds power is underated). The comparison with JMM is slightly flawed though as there fighting styles are very different. Marquez made it a close with with manny because he was able to match manny's activity level and was willing to take the fight to pacquiao even after being knocked down in the second fight. If pac throws 3 for every 1 of pbf punches even if one lands for pac he would most likely win the fight. Another point which is relevant is pacquiaos speed of foot. Even though hatton was ko'd in his fight with PBF he did struggle somewhat by hatton's rush in approach. It was simply that hatton could not match mayweather on hand speed or skill. pbf would stuggle more with pac than pac would stuggle with pbf. Pac by UD. Poss knockdowns for pac.

    Mayweather beats PAC.
    PAC's style works for Floyd.
    Perfect for him.
    Bad for PAC and Freddy.
But everyone makes money and goes home happy.

I agree, but the Auschwitz effect was a major aspect of Roach's plan.

how does pacs style work for floyd?? Expalin that one for me.

I think Pac will beat Mayweather. He's just as fast (or faster), hits harder, has good headmovement, he's a southpaw and he's improved in every single fight. He's 10x a better fighter now then he used to be. And the biggest factor for me is pac's determination. He just won't be denied.

I hope this fight happens -- mark my words, Pac will beat him.

pac has a great chance to beat the **** out of PBF. hell, pbf had nightmares fighitng castillo, and pac is a much much stronger and faster fighter than luis was. This is a 505-50 fight or 55-45 in pacs favor, esp. at 143-4
