In my opinion there's no real correct answer to that question. But why not? If the guy is very gifted, I don't see any problems to why he shouldn't become a world champion. There's several world champions who started late.
this is a question that if you where serious about it you wouldnt ask other people and just go for it, if you doubt yourself and are asking for validation from others then you dont beleive in yourself and it will be hard to achieve your goals( anyway the only validation you will get from boxing is in the ring...)...my advice is start with small goals ie: learn the moves, get fit, start sparring get your first fight, go to you first championship, ect.... But above anything else do it because you like it!
Ask yourself. If you came on here, asked this question and everyone said "No...no chance, is too late.." Would you, a. tuck tail and forget about boxing b. tell them to get stuffed and go for it anyway. In there is your answer.
If that is your dream. Don't let anybody stop ya. U only live once. Join a gym and learn all u can. Good luck!:bbb
Marvelous Marvin was 17 (not 18 I know) But one year dont make that much difference IMO. Also you wont be as good and southpaw as him so you;ll get a title shot mych sooner lol!
Seconded. I started at 28 ****ing years old and I'm constantly being told I'm performing beyond anyone's expectations (including mine). I'll never be a world champion obviously but who the **** cares? I'm having fun and I'm doing better than I could have ever expected.
18 is not that late if you've got the talent and determination you'll get somewere you can start at any age and become a world champ if youre talented enough same as you can start when your 6 and win **** all its not how early you start its how bad you want it
