I do. I hate it when unforseen circumstances cause you to miss your sessions. What do you do to cope up with it?
Heh, Im the same way. I have fight practice with my boxing team Mon, Wed, and Fri nights. Last Friday I had to work late unexpectedly and missed it. I felt horrible for some reason (even though Im told its not a big deal because I do two a days and could use the rest). But I got home that night, sat down for like two minutes and then went and put on running clothes. It was the easiest 7 miles I've ever run. I have to work out. If I miss a workout, or do a 'half ass' work out, I feel guilt almost.
I wasn't trying to sound arrogant. I just have an obsessive personality and I put boxing before anything else.
Yes, Amy you and I are alike. During my free time, most of the time Im on the gym. But due to me having work lately, I just dont have the time as the gym is only open from 7 am till 0 pm and I get out of work sometimes at 8 pm.
Well I train at 2 gyms...one is a boxing gym where I spar and do boxing training etc. The other is a big fitness gym with all the cardio machines and private areas to do whatever I want. If I miss the boxing gym (which can happen a lot due to conflicting schedules with my job and the gym's closing time) I will just go to the fitness gym which is open late and get some roadwork in. Run, jump rope, stairmaster, shadow box, do burpees etc. I use that as my backup for when i miss boxing training. As long as I get 4-5 days of training a week between the 2 gyms, I feel content. Its usually only 2 days a week I'm at the boxing gym due to the joys of 2 bursitic shoulders that need time in between to heal before I throw punches again. You are either a comic book hero or overtraining lol. Which one is it. Not even most world champion fighters could say that.
I didnt mean to be confrontational Amy. I apologize, maybe im just jealous. Iceveins I do the same. I got my boxing gym, which I go to regularly. If they're closed or I miss a practice, I go to another big fitness gym that I have a membership at just a couple miles away. On top of those two, I work at yet another one a few miles in the other direction. I also do alot of road work and running.
It really evens it out. My fitness gym has a heavybag, and a speed bag and a private area with mirrors where I can do everything I would do at the boxing gym. In essence, I only need to go to the boxing gym for sparring which is usually what I do twice a week. Then all the other days I'm content to do my roadwork at the other gym. Its closer to my house, open later and has everything i need so why not.
I never said I haven't taken a day off, I just haven't missed a day of training. My coach has training 3 days a week all year long with a two week break at the end of August and a one week break in December. I don't miss those 3 days.
Fair enough. If he regularly sticks to a 3 day schedule all year round then i could see it being an easier thing to stick to. My gym is open monday through sat so I basically mix and match the days I go, so theres no way I can remember what days I missed.
I havent been able to train since last Monday and I got hurt doing training halfway thru so it was a waste and before that I hadnt trained since that Tuesday the week before. Ive been pissed off I must say.
Yeah I do feel bad about it, especially over longer period say a week or so. It makes me feel weak, fat and lazy.
