Here are some of the greats, in my oppinion true defensive Geniuses:

    Sweet Pea
    Floyd Mayweather
    Willie Pep
    Wilfredo Benitez
    Bernard Hopkins
    Winky Wright
    Hector Camacho

Please feel free to point out who I have missed.

How would you rank these guys? Top 5?

Any great Mexican defensive fighters of note?

Locche is probably the best in terms of pure defensive ability.

Sumbu Kalambay is another who should be mentioned.

    Thanks for the input guys.

This category is so underated, when we discus boxing.

But it seems like such a rare attribute to poses, yet amazing to behold. I remember Pernell's patented crouch and weave move ........damn that was pretty. Not many could get away with that move.

    Pretty Interesting.

I love James style of boxing everything comes so naturaly for Toney if only he had discipline. Some Amazing talents like Toney tend to take their gifts for granted.

Nobody ever looked good fighting Pea. He made world class fighters and champions look amateurish. He was amazing :good

There is a Benitez fight on Youtube, I forgot who it was against, where he breaks his ankle a few seconds into the round and fights the rest round with a broken ankle.

The guy he was fighting still could not manage to land more than a handful of punches 5 or 6 punches i beleive if that. It was amazing!

That's why they call him the "Radar".
