Wow. Hopefully Pac isn't too big of a favorite. I will probably bet heavy on Pac. Hatton had some serious problems with Lazcano but was bailed out of them by a freaking shoelace stoppage.

This is a beautiful fight to bet on. All people see is the last fight and the "W"s. They see Hatton beat up feather fisted Malignaggi (who would have made it to the end of that mauling if it wasn't for the corner stoppage) but they don't watch the fights.

Or if they DO watch the fights, they RATIONALIZE any thing bad that happened in there to their man. "Well he WON didn't he?"

I predict some good moments for Hatton. Anybody willing to take the kind of damage he does gets to land some big shots. But he ain't going to last twelve rounds and there won't be anybody their to stop the fight so he can catch a break.

Wow. I hope Pacman comes in at under -200.

For the record, if you asked me who would have won this fight a few years ago I would have laughed and said Hatton would destroy Manny.

Hatton / Lazcano and Manny / Diaz and Manny / DLH changed my mind.

 

Roach in under estimating Hatton and thats his downfall. Im sorry what is Manny going to do when he's the one getting pressure and getting roughed up in the inside. Manny is good offensive fighter going forward but as far he's getting pressure and back pedaling, fighting on the defensive end not that good. This fight is a 50-50 and just because Oscar got beat up at a weight he shouldn't be fighting at doesnt mean he's going to beat Hatton at 140lbs which is the weight natural weight for Hatton and what he usually is the best at.

Hatton's an in-your-face type of fighter. Pacman fights best when he's got room to work. Give him breathing room to put those combinations together and move around and he'll destroy you. However Hatton is incredibly quick on his feet, knows how to close the gap better than anyone at the weight, and isn't scared to pull the trigger like De La Hoya. Result? Pacman doesn't have the luxury of a stationary target that doesn't fire back to tee off on.

Also, some of the questions I have regarding Pac's defensive ability that were left over from the Marquez fights have still not been answered. Unlike Mayweather, Pacman has NEVER been comfortable on the backfoot, and trust me Hatton will FORCE him to fight on the backfoot, even if it involved taking a few shots to get him there.

Pacman gets the better of the early rounds with cleaner shots and better combo's, but is noticeably worried by the workrate and strength of Hatton. Hatton comes on stronger in the later rounds as Pacman tires, and starts to sap away Pacman's strength with his body attack and relentless attack. Hatton could score a stoppage late, although I favour it'll be a war that's close on the scorecards. I don't think Pacman stops Hatton, but he might put him down if he gets the right show in.

 

One note about Hatton and body punches, that was one thing that was missing against Malignaggi.

 

Gayweather's people apporached Hatton for a rematch....
Why doesn't he fight Pacman....I'm sure there would be a hell of

JMM is no where near as good as Floyd.. and Manny couldn't handle him.. I'm no PBF fan either.

 

No. Having Floyd Sr. in his corner for a full training camp can only help Hatton. Pacuqiao might win this fight, but it won't be a one-sided affair like Pacquiao-De La Hoya.

 

Hatton's chance to win is if he bully pacman and use his main arsenal.,the hatton "hug".,

 

Roach must really consider his man invincible at this stage, seeing as how Hatton 'will be a cakewalk,' but they wanted Mayweather instead. He was ready to turn down an 'easy' superfight worth tens of millions of dollars just to challenge his guy.

Nahh, I don't agree with Roach. Hatton was more tailor made for Mayweather than he is for Manny.

Both Hatton and Pacquiao have strengths that could potentially cause big problems for the other. Infighting for example; Hatton clearly has the advantage here as he likes to maul on the inside and breaks guys down with short punches to both the head and body. While all Manny does when in close is that shoe shine stuff.

I expect this to be a very competitive fight for both where the winner, whoever it might be, will come away with only a close decision victory.
