Fair call Bula, but he was just a kid at that stage of his career. He certainly didnt have the skills he has today.
We can see from this video how much pacquiao has matured in this sport. U can see his punching power was still good at this weight.
Calderon wins as Manny would be a teenager at 106 without the scary physical attributes that make him the fighter he is. You may as well have asked "Calzaghe vs Mayweather at 154, who wins?"
One of my favourite fighters ever to be honest. Its really a big call but he is up there with the greats. :good
Obviously size wouldnt matter because calderon beat cazares twice. I think its still a pacman KO because manny hits insanly fast.
I just checked Manny's boxrec, and because of those slack Philippine boxing regulations, I'm not quite sure which of his early-early fights were officially at 105, and which were at 108. Anyway, he was still a tiny kid with a fan friendly fighting style.
This thread is dumb. Pac was only 16 or 17, he would most certainly lose to the far more experienced and technical boxer, Ivan Calderon.
Well lets start by saying the only way you can get Pacquiao under 120 lbs is cutting his legs and arms off. Calderon is a 105lbs who fights at 108lbs because nobody wants to fight him at 105lbs. And he is in his 30's. Pacquiao, who turned 30 two days ago started his career at 106lbs. But that was January 1995. He was 16 years old. In other words, this thread doesn't make any sense.
The video was 2 months before Pacquiao turned 17. He wasn't 18 like the comentators said. Excellent performance for such a young kid
