Nigel Benn

Benn is another one of these fighters who I think would have been huge if born American. Ok, he may have has more defeats on his record but they would have adored him, surely? **** me, the general American public went wild over Pavlik (who is nowhere near as exciting) or is his (Pavlik) popularity more to do with his skin tone....or lack of?

 

as a fighter he was legendary as a personality at the time came across as punkish, whoever says benn has a chance against jones is clearly nuthugging, jones was our modern day SRR benn doesnt even touch him Jones would decimate him in a 1 sided fight
in comparison to jones benns skills were primitive i cant really see benn coming in range and landing anything that would worry roy jones jr

yo faisal one question and one question only cos you got me spitting, why did'nt RJJ fight BENN when he had every opportunity, when BENN was calling him out, when BENN was fighting every one and anyone(same way it took him 10 years to finally fight CALZAGHE),the fact it never happened is simple, jones did'nt fancy the heat that BENN brought

Jones was not rocked by Vaca .

Montells workrate and style troubled him ( in the first fight ) but never his power.

Del Valle floored him and lost every second of every minute of every round apart from that.

Benn was nothing like Buster Douglas, he was a phenomenal fighter, against Barkley ( a former and future world champ ) against Eubank against the G man.

Benn was absolutely awesome, just sheer aggression, the fights with logan and barkley were mental, really sound bloke out of the ring as well, met him a few times at these sportsmen dinners and benefit party's and he's always willing to talk, get photos, sign auto, the guys a legend!

 

theres a video of benn saying that he doesnt mind being second to roy, if any 1 was going to be under any sort of heat it would have been benn, jones would have had a field day with that all out guns blazing style of his and even benn addmitted it, as for calzaghe wtf guy, jones was a LHW when calzaghe won the wbo against eubank since beating eubank till the time he fought lacy he had the credentials of a ''euro bum''
