No it was not. How can someone who throws literally next to nothing, circles and runs to the other side of the ring for 12 rounds be robbed. I like Holyfield but truth be known his effort was as hopeless as Valuev's.

NO, Holyfield did nothing to take the belt from the champ, you don't win championship fights by running and jabbing only.

You idiot! He landed all the hard ****ing punches, ALL of them, every single ****ing one of them. It wasn't more than 2 or 3 clean hard shots per round, but then again, they were the only clean shots... Valuev did nothing most of the time. Had 2 clear rounds, but other than that, NOTHING, just taking some hard shots every minute and a half.

I watched it on my large screen, perfect quality TV broadcast.

I scored the fight 8-2-2 in favour of Holyfield.

Jabbing only? If I walked you through the fight, I could show you at least 15 big shots Evander landed on Valuev. Knocked Valuev's head, and made him fix his mouth piece a few times. I never saw one big shot from Valuev.

Yes, you do. Especially if the work your doing exceeds your opponents.

I reckon holyfield won most rounds until he got tired. After he tired the fight was not only very boring, but also a disgrace for the division ( i mean how can any of these to guys be champions). When Evander had nothing left the big lummox still couldn't do anything to him, and Valuev really needs to bring something else than that slow-motion jab or retire with Holyfield. Holyfield won because he took charge in the first rounds, and stole some of the later rounds as well

  8. That may well have made all the difference, too. I had two computers in the same room running with two diff internet feeds and on the lesser quality one it was hard to see any definitive landed punches for either man. On the other higher quality one, you could see the action better and Holy landed the bigger shots and certainly more shots than Valuev (albeit there weren't many). 8-2-2 seems reasonable.

Name me another Heavyweight championship fight decision that was worse than this? you can't. Holyfield landed at least 15 big shots. These shots would have floored guys like TOS, Saverise, or David Haye, guys with mediocre chins. Look at the fight again, and count the big shots. Valuev landed not one big shot. Evander didn't just run. It would be nice once in a while to discuss boxing with people who know boxing.

I have a 50 HD Plasma and beleive me I saw the fight, I saw exactly what Holyfied was able to score in that fight, and Valuev just wasnt throwing anything I mean seriously he would only revert to the double jab right hand probably threw about 5 uppercuts at best during the fight maybe 2 or 3 left hooks in the fight.

Holyfield out worked him and landed far more shots than Valuev and they were the cleaner of teh shots.

One thing is for certain, Valuev does not deserve to be called a "World HW Boxing Champion"! This bout was an absolute disgrace and disservice to boxing. The "decision" was an absolute joke, even worse than Lewis vs. Holyfield 1. Valuev was so bad that I thought he'd been paid to let Holyfield win -- what a joke!!!!

Considering that Holyfield is 46 and hasn't won many fights over the last 5 years makes me want to laugh and cry! Valuev did nothing after his ring entrance that's worthy of any praise whatsoever. He landed nothing of consequence, could not look effective against a small, old, supposedly shot fighter.

At least Holyfield had a gameplan that he stuck with. He made Valuev fight his fight and there was nothing that Valuev did to "control" the fight. Holyfield landed a few punches and, heck, even a couple of headbutts for good measure -- he definitely landed the more effective blows.

Absolute joke of a fight, with an even worse decision at the end.

Let's all say it together "Another Black Eye For Boxing"!

Don't some HW ratings have Valuev in the current Top 5?????

How about Top 500!!! Chris Arreola, Kevin McBride and an Injured Golota... Maybe even Riddick Bowe could beat Valuev! If Billy Zumbrun gets a title shot he could win. Ray Mercer? Why not!

    AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I will no longer consider Valuev's Alphabet Title remotely legit or credible.

The man makes the belt, not the belt the man.

Still didn't watch the fight so not sure about it since I didn't really get it here, I'll have it downloaded pretty soon and leave my comments after. Just as a started I'll say that I knew yet another controversial decision will be involved with this fraud Valuev.

  13. I believe ya. I think some that only watched the low quality pirated 'net feeds may be leaning toward a no-decison/draw because they couldn't see any of the few connects (nearly all by Holy) in this fight.

I can't agree more with this and have almost nothing to add, you said it all.

The sad thing is that Valuev is a very humble and respectful man and it's hard to hate him. His managers are the ones that deserve the blame. They are just milking Valuev.
