his dad might have been watching old vids of fighters and led him to believe that old is usually better than new that's why he is always criminally underrating pac

20- 50 yrs from now Sweet Pea III will be talking about how current fighters stack up againts Pacquiao, JMM, etc..... People like throwbacks... Pac is a throwback fighter but also a modern fighter...

Stylistically I think Pep is all wrong for Pac. He had the speed, agility and reflexes as well as counter-punching ability to give Pac fits. This is the 126 version of Pac that we're talking about remember, the one that was heavily reliant on the 1-2, had a very vulnerable defense due to his reckless aggression, hadn't properly incorporated the right hook and was somewhat one-dimensional in his attack. A devastating fighter, but ready to be exploited by a quick, clever boxer and counter-puncher. Pep fits this to a T, and he would win a relatively comfortable decision at his best.

I think Sanchez is another who is all wrong for Pac. He could box and brawl, do it all. One of my favourite fighters to watch because he was a brilliant fighter, who I rate near the top in terms of head-to-head. He always seemed to fight to the level of his opponent. A decision victory for Sanchez in a war.

Pac would beat Hamed down, and possibly stop him.

Arguello is a tough one, I can definitely see this going either way. I'll lean towards Pac, though it's a very, very tough call.

Morales at 122 was a sensational fighter, and Pacquiao was nowhere near the fighter that dismantled Morales in the second and third fights. I'd pick Morales at 122, 126 is 50/50, and 130 is Pac.

I would favour Pac over Nelson, a UD.

your all on crack if you think that hamed would be KO'd by any fighter...ever! (bold i know)

barrera is an all time grate but naz has lost his competative edge way before the marco fight! ( he quite his own team trained on his own , belived his own hype)

naz at his absolute best was incredable to watch

ps spelling is aweful as i'm tres drunk!

You're clearly drunk if you think Hamed couldn't be stopped. The only great fighter he ever fought took him to school, and Barrera was far from a destroyer. Someone like Pac would mess Hamed up IMO.

The only one of those fighters I'd pick Pac over would be Hamed. Other than that, I'd pick the rest of those guys over Pac at those weights. Pac at 122 and even 126 had not yet developed the technical skill and versatility that he has now, which his first fights with Marquez and Morales showed. For that reason, I think the most interesting of all those fights is Arguello, as great as Arguello is, 130 is where Pac reached the peak of his powers IMO. Plus, Pac's speed and southpaw left could be troublesome for Arguello. Still, given the trouble Pac has had in both fights with Marquez, I'd lean toward Arguello's height, range, and technical skill to win out in the end.

Except for Barrera, all those fights happened at 130 and up.

I hear what your saying but the only time naz went down was due to him being off balance from trying to through crazy shots from the outside ( ala kevin kelly)

at his absolute undistracted best naz was a monster with angles and punching power the division had never seen,

check out youtube when i mention his lack of focus for the marco fight ( one of my all time favourite boxers... way above hamed on my personal list due to his tenasity and longevity in the sport)

hamed stoped training with the ingles and belived he was everything HBO said he was, a focused determined hamed could ( not saying he would) beat any figher of his era in what we all now is a talent rich division

    .. still drunk! *wink*

Yeah I know Hamed had balance issues, and a granite chin. He wouldn't get knocked out by 1 punch, but I can see him being stopped based on accumulation, which Pac is the master at. :good

Hamed was an excellent fighter at his best, but he never really proved himself against a really good fighter in my eyes.

pac was a one dimentional fighter till he showed signs of improvement ala morales 2...

the one fighter on the list that i'd favor pac over the most would be hamed.

this might not be a popular ( or correct) opinion but i think that naz had already peaked before the hbo deal and launching his american adventure,

i'm 28 so was really only a kid when i stayed up late to watch the price fight and he was treated like a national hero from a very young age.... money, girls, fame can be a lot especialy when your yound and naz definatley got cought up in the celebrity of his life style,

as silly as it sounds from a sporting point he peaked in a sporting sence before he peaked in a box office sence.

i know i've had a few beers but i do have a fairly educated opinion on naz's demise.....

prime naz by KO rd 6 ( after being down once or twice)
