    In his prime? No worries.

Today, well maybe not so much.

In his prime, go up from welter and beat Calzaghe at Supermiddle? I'm not as crazy as some about Calzaghe, but I don't think so.

Very tough fight for Leonard at Super Middleweight....

  7. I'd even take Ray at 147 to befuddle and KO the 168 Calzaghe. SRL is two classes above Joe.

P4P its not even debatable. A prime Leonard was head and shoulders greater and better than Joe.

However in an actual fight at 168, I'd favor Joe over Ray by decision.

In Leonard's prime, he'd have hell too. Great welterweights should have "worries" about very good super middleweights/light heavyweights.

Leonard is clearly the better/greater fighter, but there are weight classes for a reason.

Great. I wanna see Calzaghe V Leonard, that would further solidify his legacy for sure!:good

I'm a full fledged Calzaghe fan now, so I have no morals.

I gave 'em up like smoking.:rasta

No way, no day, no how.

    Way too big for Leonard.

The Leonard who beat Hagler would beat supermiddleweight Joe Calzaghe. Calzaghe would have size on his side but nothing else. Leonard is no Jeff Lacy or Byron Mitchell, his skills are way beyond those of anyone Calzaghe ever fought, he would easily outclass Mr Workrate. People on here need to start differentiating between quality levels - just because someone is good in their own weight division today does not mean they could compete with the best fighters of stronger eras. A past-prime Hagler is a far better fighter than any version of someone like Joe Calzaghe - what proof is there otherwise??

Calzaghe vs Hagler prime-for-prime is a toss-up, imo. I'd pick Calzaghe to beat Leonard.

Both Hagler and Leonard are, of course, greater fighters.
