If these fights happen, it will be 48-0, Hopkins isn't fit enough to cope with Calzaghe's workrate, Dawson isn't experienced enough, Calzaghe is too smart for him. Like a guy said earlier in the thread, fook the haters lol.

Calzaghe was in much better shape in the Jones fight, better conditioned and better adjusted to the weight. He would have an easier time with Hopkins this go round. Hopkins only chance would be to go balls to the wall for an early round KO but odds are that would not happen and he'd get tko'd or dq'd after the ref. disallowed him to hold to survive

Why should JC grant the racist Hopkins a rematch. Who wants to watch Hopkins backpeddle, hold, and feign injury for 12rounds again? Hopkins had his chance and blew it

Well yeah a Johnson fight would be cool, but B-Hop and Dawson are the ones everyone always brings up

He beat hopkins dont forget that!
Hopkins held on for dear life in that fight, and now after hopkins beats an overhyped fighter like pavlik you suggest he would beat calzaghe THIS TIME lol
No chance, and as for dawson he is another jeff lacy the man most u.s boxing fans thought would destroy an old calzaghe and how did that turn out.

The fact is if calzaghe was an american he would be talked about alongside PBF and Pac, the fact he is a brit means he gets **** on.
Its pathetic but us brits are used to it by now.
I on the other hand enjoy watching fighters no matter what their nationality.
Calzaghe will still be the name every light heavy and ever super middle will want in 2009 whether he has retired or not.
THATS BECASUE THEY ALL KNOW THAT UNTIL THEY BEAT THE BEST THEIR TITLE DOESNT MEAN ****

why would any1 want to watch a rematch it was a horrible fight to watch, calzaghe tried his best to make the fight a little entertaining and counteract hopkins constant holding and feigning injury, but a rematch would most likely follow the same script as the 1st!
hopkins couldnt live with calzaghes punch volume and tire and again resort to holding!

The people who say he needs to do the right thing and rematch hopkins will then harp on about hopkins age when calzaghe beats him.

If he fought and beat dawson he wouldn't get any credit. Detractors would say Dawson beat an old tarver, scraped by (at best) an old johnson, and beat a weight drained Adamek.

Calzaghe can't really win. But I have little sympathy. He could have stopped this catch 22 by growing a pair years ago.

I hate how people use the fact that the Hopkins was a different person against Pavlik then he was against Calzaghe and that because of that rationale he would definitely do better in a rematch. I think if anything it goes to show how different both fights were and it also illustrates how much of a toll each fight took on Hopkins throughout the fights. Point blank hopkins won't turn back time and won't be prime.

Personally I just think its just alot of haters trying to make excuses as to why a rematch should even take place. I saw the fight was boring as hell and I don't care to see another one of those borefest, but to make it clear I still think Calzaghe takes the decision on higher workrate and shoe shining at the end of rounds.

I rather much see Calzaghe take on Johnson or Dawson.

No, what we've got are alot of haters trying to make excuses as to why a rematch shouldn't take place, when ESPN, the Associated Press, Yahoo Sports, and Setanta scored the fight for Hopkins, among others - not to mention thousands and thousands of fans out there. This is one of the most hotly debated outcomes of the recent era - and there shouldn't be a ****ing rematch?? HUH? You didn't like the first fight - cool, don't force yourself to watch the rematch if it happens.

    Why should he rematch Hopkins?

All Hopkins did was cry foul, foul himself and hold excessively In that fight. He doesn't deserve a rematch.

Dawson Is rematching Tarver anyway and he struggled with Glen Johnson's workrate. Plus he has a shaky chin. Calzaghe would beat Dawson.
