So Joe is the greatest SMW that ever lived:-(, how would he matchup against Michael Moorer's perfect KO record at 175?

Not a hate thread, but a real question.

Emmanuel Steward claims that Moorer was one of the greatest Light Heavyweights of all time and had he stayed in the division longer, may have been the greatest.

But thats Manny talking here. And Moorer fought next to nobody at LHW.

You cant argue with a perfect KO record at 175.

    hard to judge

moorer was the gerald mcclellen of 175 , but would he have met his nigel benn if he had stayed at light heavy ?

dont know, but he sure could punch at light heavy , poor opposition or not.

only thing i would note is punchers with perfect ko recs fall in love with there power and usually lose to fighters with good gameplans and skill , because they do not want to adapt and settle down and box , but want to get there opponents out of there.

benn was like this himself and it took a loss for him to settle down and mix up boxing and power more.

calzaghe himself was like this early in his career , just it took his fragile hands to actually make him a better more rounded fighter.

ok let's not get things out of hand. joe was one of the best or the best 168lbs. but their are too many 175lbers that would of destroyed joe and been style matchup nightmares for him. moorer was a beast. southpaw, fast, plus ko power. first 2 things in common with joe, but moorer would humiliate joe sameway jones did with toney. i think prime rjj, moorer, archie moore, foster, and doug jones would of beaten joe handily.

Double M had very good power at 175 and a good Chin as well.

Moorer would probably stop JC however if Calzaghes chin held up he would outbox Moorer.

Manny is talking directly out of his ass. Moorer gets awfully overrated at LHW. Hardly fought anyone with a pulse and was given real issues and exposed to an extent by some of those second rate and past prime fighters like Frankie Swindell and Leslie Stewart. Someone with a good workrate, good handspeed, and a non-telegraphed style could beat him. Not sure if Joe has the size or power at LHW though.

Calzaghe's been put down by old Jones and old Hopkins. Moorer would obliterate him. If Calzaghe could last past 3 rounds, he'd stand a good chance of winning, but I suspect it would be an early KO.

Nope, Because he will never lose,
The harder the opposition the better he performs.
    Simple as that.

Hopkins caught him off balance, Not a hard shot, And jones jr landed a forearm,
A clean punch by both of them would not hurt calzaghe.
That's why he came back and defeat 2 legends back to back in good style.
Granite chin and heart of a lion.
