Does anyone know if Sergiy Dzinziruk is a good champion, and is he a legit threat to Paul Williams?

very good champ....good power, great jab, good hand speed, great counter puncher and he's pretty much as technically sound of a fighter can be.....he's a legit threat

i'd say watch his fight with Santos, that should clear up any question marks in ya head

i only saw a couple of his fights and i would say he's decent but has only a slim chance. but at the same time i thought quintana had only a slim chance.

He is very skilled and disciplined fighter, but Williams is more versatile and that should be the difference.

Williams is the most overrated fighter in boxing at the moment. If Quintana can beat him, theres no reason why Dzinriruk cant.

Um...yes he is! In fact you could change the question to whether Williams is a legit thread to Dzinziruk.

Yes. He's a good lefty counterpuncher, which is a style Williams had trouble with in the first Quintana fight. Dzinziruk fights more upright than Quintana, but he's also stronger. Both beat Joel Julio by about the same margin. Also, Williams' workrate seemed lower at 154, so it would be tougher to overwhelm his opponent. Dzinziruk would be a very live dog in the fight.

I'd also add that Sergiy is one tough SOB. Julio connected with a few more than decent shots, and it almost looked he liked the taste of it, 'finally some action' or something like that... fighting off-screen in Germany is a criminal act, he's a better champ at Universum than Chagaev, Sturm or Erdei. Also, other than being a better fighter all around than Quintana, he's physically much stronger and has an iron chin together with his iron will...

personally i would perhaps have it 55-45 in favor of sergei.. his handspeed and footwork is very good..

he is the typical german trained fighter, a very tight defense, against santos he hardly gave him any chances.. really solid defensively..

not to me mate, i had sergei winning by a larger margin.. i cnat remember the specific score i had, but i believe it was something like 8-4 or 9-3, santos was being outboxed in the majority of the fight..

Too close IMO. Dzindziruk knocked Santos down, and won quite a few rounds by connecting with the better shots.
Anyway! Dzindziruk won fair and square.Whats more their fight was a feast for our poor eyes.Very entertaining! Great show of boxing!
