ive been reading alot of articles over the last few months about morales saying he wants to return next summer go strait into a big fight with jmm. morales is my favourite fighter of all time and for me the best of the new fabolous four and i would love nothing more than for him to stay in retirement and enjoy his life. but if he is serious does he hav a realistic chance against jmm? maybe the long well needed layoff was good for him and he could make a succesfull comeback or maybe that first fight with pac really did take everything he had left out of him. wat ya'll think ?
When you're shot you are shot! Its not like other boxers who went out in their prime and came back (thinking Vitali and the impending Floyd return here). Morales looked shot in his last fight with Pac (a decent effort against Diaz, but David was a paper champ and Manny tore that guy to shreds). I love the guy, but he will never recapture his former glory. He should just stay retired.
I always wanted EM/JMM fight..too bad it never happend before. I would favor a prime Morales against Marquez. However, I do agree with you that he should stay retired and enjoy his family. His legacy is already secured, he has nothing more to prove.
He should stay retired he looked to be around LHW in recent pics and would kill himself to make 135. He's got the heart of a warrior but will be in for a rude awakening going straight after Marquez.
I just don't see Marquez avoiding getting in a firefight with Morales, and he would certainly come out on the losing end against Morales in a firefight. It's wrong to count out fighters. Look what Foreman did in his comeback, but common sense tells us that Morales should call it a day.
Morales will go down in history as one of the greatest warriors alive. I don't want to see him take anymore punishment but i would still pay to see him fight if it does happen
thumbsup That kid in his prime was an absolute killing machine. Speed, power, chin, endurance. He had it all, problem like fighters like him they don't stay to long in the game.
I think Erik Morales had a pretty long career. He won his first World title in 1997 and hasn't looked back since then. He has some fantastic wins over Barrera, Pacquiao, In jin Chi, Chavez, to name a few, and has been involved in some of the most entertaining fights of the past 8 years. A credit to the sport and he can bow out of the game with his head up high knowing that his legacy will live forever.
really can't see him doing well...especially considering he blows up between fights, and his last perforemances were ****. he is one of my favourites of all time tho.
He should seek rematches against DDD and Raheem just to say he has a win over every man hes faced. His mortal enemy can never say that
