    :rofl

Please. I'm a huge Pac fan, and give him loads of credit for victories of Barrera and Morales. I give him a bit of credit for the Oscar fight, but nowhere near as much as the former two. The problem here is with YOU. You take any negative statement, anything that could detriment perception of Pacquiao's legacy, and label the person as a hater. Why? They're often speaking the truth. The reality is Thomas Hearns would knock out Manny, but it's a stupid matchup to start with. But rather than just dismissing it as a stupid matchup (as is done with other fighters, such as Muhammad Ali vs. Roy Jones etc.), Pac fans fall for the trap every single time, and start going on about fantasy fights being the only place he loses, fueling the fire.

Don't sit there and tell me I'm a delusional keyboard warrior, I'm someone who loves this sport, and I appreciate great fighters like Manny. The difference between me and you is, while I love watching Manny more than anybody else currently fighting, I'm a realist. I can objectively rate him, rank him, discuss his legacy by taking into account relevent factors such as whether an opponent is in their prime. Erik Morales is close to my favourite fighter of all time, but I don't claim that his victory of Pacquiao was over Pac at his peak. I know there were factors such as a one-dimensional style that since improved tenfold, a bad cut that may have affected his vision. I know that wasn't Pac at his peak, and I openly concede that. Similarly, I admit that Ali didn't quite beat a peak Sonny Liston (close to it though), nor Archie Moore, or Cleveland Williams, or several others.

It's called objectivity. Morales was not in his prime in the first, second or third fights. And in my eyes, he got worse with each of the three fights, while Pacquiao improved dramatically in each fight. And despite scoring the second Marquez fight for Marquez, I know that both fights were close and could've gone either way, I don't try to discredit Pac's victory here, but it remains a disputable victory.

Again, what do you want from boxing fans? Credit? Then why do you only want it for Pac? Are you a fan of boxing or a fan of Manny Pacquiao? Because there are just as many critics to counteract the nuthuggers for every fighter out there. I've seen people dismiss Sugar Ray Leonard's victories as mediocre, and that Sugar himself was average, and that he was in his prime against Norris. I've seen people claim Ali was in his prime against Ken Norton, or that Frazier was shot by the second fight. So what!? It happens with every fighter, don't sit there and sook about it. Rather than creating threads saying Pac never gets any credit and ESB is littered with haters, harden the **** up, post some rational discussion and reasoning behind your arguments, and stop trying to type with someone's balls hanging out of your ****ing mouth.

    Have a good day.

i know that by know you are annoyed and believe me, i don't want to do this. but the article is spot-on. for every pac victory, there are corresponding excuses. of course some may be valid but its kind of frustating that it happens everytime.

we do not want pac to be proclaimed as the GOAT but we just wish that any single win of pac would be devoid of excuse/s. is it hard to happen? for example in the DLH fight, why did DLH look that way? is it just because of oscar or maybe pacman's movement himself has something to do with it why DLH look slow. pac did not stay in front of oscar. he did not let oscar establish his jab. he beat oscar to it in the early goings. we all know that DLH is past his prime before the fight. and because pac made him look slow, he is now shot. what if he fights again and win against a 147 or a 154 contender?

it is pacs fault in whooping all of these greats. if he only made hoya, mab, morales 2 and 3, ledwaba competitive, then he wont be ridiculed like this.
shutting them off and making them kissed the canvass more than 7 times made a picture in haters mind that since these greats were shutoff and didnt deserve any beating since they are elite, they are either shot, old, weight drained and not in their best night. you see, it is hard to imagine that these greats would be embarrased like that easily. pound per pound 3 mab getting schooled and destroyed by unkown pac, ledwaba begging for his life by pac with a 2 weeks notice, morales who never kissed the canvass was denied by the one dimensional pac, and the supposed bigger hoya would never lose to a midget got pounded.... i blame pac for his greatness. :yep

Oscar shot? No. Past his prime? Yes, he has been for years, as you said. It was the weight drain that seems to be the problem. Similar perhaps to when Pac was stopped because he was weight-drained? It can do terrible things to a fighter, the effects cannot be understated. Of COURSE Pac's movement played a big part, his performance was phenomenal. But realistically, Oscar looked terrible with or without Pac in front of him. He just couldn't get off, and didn't even come into the ring over the 147 limit... that last time he would've done that was probably when he fought at 135. Terrible! Hence why I don't rate the victory anywhere near the Barrera victory, and not on the level of the Morales victory (who was still a great fighter).

And there is an excuse for every victory of every great fighter. Were any of Floyd's victories ever considered legit? No, there was always something. Same with Roy, same with Oscar, same with everyone! There are rarely fights like Oscar-Tito or Oscar-Mosley, where two prime fighters simply go at it, no excuses. Oscar beat Tito, no excuses. Mosley beat Oscar, no excuses. Pac beat Barrera, no excuses.

Well, if those guys he beats are in their prime, you won't hear a peep from anyone. Every last fan here knows PAc faced old, weak opposition, and very few capable prime fighters. You want to talk about excuses...watch what I post lol...

Its not only Pac. It happens to other fighters as well. Like when Pavlik lost to Hopkins last October, a few days after the fight his dad comes out with reports that his son suffered the flu 2 days prior to the fight.

    Agreed.

Though I'm not sure why Singsurat and Torrecampo aren't considered great? I mean they destroyed a great fighter in Manny Pacquiao... but get no credit?
