Haven't read the whole thread, so if somebody has already said mine then kudos.

I really like Humberto Soto, and don't see much about him any where.


Oh yeah, and another small fighter fave of mine: Ulisis Solis, that little dude is bad ass and always puts on a good fight.

 

Spadafora has looked really good at times. Most people think he's a bum but he does a lot of really good things in the ring. His use of angles is something that people might underrate.

 

Humberto Soto is pretty good. He was almost signed to fight Pac in Vancouver after taking apart his bro. Would've been an excellent scrap until Pac decided to fight Barrera (i think) instead. The fans lost out on that one.

James Toney, Humberto Soto, Joel Casamayor, Antonio Tarver, Clottey, Glen Johnson...the list goes on.

Haven't read the hole thread. Surely Mundine is underrated. Hes only self to blame though, but has alot of skill and talent. Hes attitude is actually handmade for the US-market. He could be a "Contender-star" like "JR" in Dallas. Everybody would love to hate him!!

 

He really has done nothing with his talent for people to "rate" him in the first place...He is a forgotten fighter because he chooses to fight in his little patch of the world against fighters not rated in the top 200 because he can still make money off it.

Eh, he's one of the most discussed and because of so, he is both over and under rated far too much.

Agree big time with Ricardo Lopez. Chris John was in 2008 and still is. Somehow more so while still undefeated, now in 2013.

Haye circa 2008 should have been appreciated more for his 3 top level victories at CW to unify the division.

Margarito and Berto, great calls.

Pacquiao being called overrated in 2008 is a little off. 2011? Sure.

-Abraham I feel always got his dues.
-Calderon was and always will be.
-Caballero proved to not be quite what everyone thought or feared he was back when this thread was made.
-Angulo... meh. He gave us the Kirkland fight.
-Adamek got his respect through the HW debut and Arreola win, but since with the loss to Vitali and multiple questionable decisions, he almost has been blackballed by fans too much and has come full circle to being underrated again even in the long faded final leg of his career.

Dawson's resume = one of the most underrated of the last 10 years...

ROMAN GONZALEZ UPDATE:
36-0, 30 KO's
Defended his WBA minimumweight title 3 times.
Moved up and became WBA junior flyweight titlist, defended it 5 times.

Still struggling to get great opponents, but he has amassed a few impressive top wins over Juan Francisco Estrada, Katsunari Takayama, and Ramon Garcia. His resume is filled out by lower quality (given Roman's respect) but known journeyman/gatekeepers in Francisco Rosas X2, Omar Soto, Ronald Barrera, Manuel Vargas, and Omar Salado.

Finally universally given respect and seen as a top 15 P4P fighter and the best below 122 pounds.

Currently, we wait for him to either unify with Kazuto Ioka at 108 or move up to the division he has lately flirted with and rematch Estrada at 112.

What you say about Castillo though...

I love him and he IS very underrated. But agree to disagree with how extreme you say. Marquez has since distanced himself in your mind, I hope.

Great shout out on Donaire and Sergio. Bravo! They proved to be the goods.

Donaire took until the 2011 epic Montiel KO to earn respect, and just as quickly lost it in the fight the public wanted against Rigondeaux. He lost 11 of 12 rounds with his only bright spot being a 10th round KD.

I think guys like Diaz, Dzinziruk, and Guzman got their dues at the time of their peak. Guzman now has perhaps too much nostalgia... Berto and Dzinziruk did earn their high rankings, but proved to not be the forces who could maintain a consistent winning streak against that level of competition.

-Kessler now is very well respected. His resume gained so much by defeating Froch with what Froch went on to further do.
-Chris John, still underrated. And Marquez didn't get robbed. John won a legit close fight... But anyone who would watch that fight and think less of John is some kind of special freak.
-Darchinyan is appreciated by some but I don't think they realize how big of a force he was at 112 and after he recovered from the Donaire KO.

Things like this for certain fighters... Floyd no doubt here.

Overrated - JMM, Duran, Erislandy Lara, Stevenson, Dawson

 

Bradley - He get **** on alot over Pacquiao but people continue to ignore Provo, Vasquez, Alexander Peterson Witter (In England) wins
Wright - Always felt he was underrated
Taylor - Everyone talks about stanima and chin but he was the only one I seend knockdown pavlik and Froch and always fought the best time in and time out
Garcia - Seriously guys up until that Mattysse win people was saying ignorant **** like he has a weak chin
P.Williams - much like Taylor always fought the best but just because he had a bad decision against Lara and struggled against movers he gets shitted on he still holds wins over Martinez Margarito (no telling if he used loaded gloves) and always fought guys nobody wanted any part of its only now that he is paralyzed that people miss him
