I am assuming you are talking 126lbs?

From what I know of both fighters, their records and their footage, I would be leaning toward Sanchez in this one. That version of Pacquiao was handled nicely by Juan Manuel Marquez even after Pacquiao's incredible opening round. Sanchez was a battle hardened warrior and I would just expect him to win this one down the stretch. Both men keep trucking to the final bell, so I don't know whether it would make much of a difference whether this is 12 or 15 rounds.

That said, I'm no expert on either man, and I hope some more knowledgeable posters come in to comment on this one. Hopefully a detailed breakdown?

Sanchez was a much better Featherweight than Pacquiao. Of course the Pac fans- who don't understand the difference between the younger, less experienced, less skilled Pacquiao and today's version - will always take any version of Pacquiao in any fantasy matchup at any weight just because he's Pacquiao.

Sanchez was a better and more versatile boxer than Morales, Barrera, or Marquez. A better counter-puncher than any of them (Marquez included, who is primarily thought of as highly in this regard because he is more restricted to this style of fighting than the more versatile Sanchez). A more powerful puncher than any of them. More durable than any of them with seemingly limitless stamina to go along with it. Better inside, outside, in a brawl, etc. Pac's one paced attack would see him countered and beaten up by the later rounds, and more than likely stopped over 15, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over 12.

    Good.

Sanchez's relentlessness in the footage I've seen of him has always impressed me.

I always wondered about his stamina. Is it genetic like his lung capacity is naturally higher or is it because of his workouts?

Sanchez is every bit what Juan Manuel Sanchez is and more.....especially
    the chin.

After two fights the only thing that separates Manny - Marquez is one point.

So, Sanchez would do much better...probalby by KO.

He was one of my favorite fighters....it was tough when he went against
    Bazooka Gomez.....
Gomez should not have screwed that hot Puerto Rican celebrity the night before the fight.

Pac LOST all in the fantasy match up! No problem. It never happened.
In reality match up! IT'S A DIFFERENT story ! It's almost quarter of a year short
of four years since pac lost to Morales.

Guys, Keep Knocking out Pac!... In your DREAMS!

    cheers!

I just keep thinking of the way sanchez battered gomez around in their fight, and cannot see pacquiao winning, sanchez was a master counter puncher he did it with so much fluidity. Sanchez wins.

You keep taking it personal like its in some way attacking Pac...It is not.

It is respecting and admiring the fighter Sanchez was and getting real about where Pac was at in regards to his skill level and tactical ability when he was at featherweight.
He is a better fighter now and Sanchez was a better fighter then him when he was at featherweight.

Pacquiao is asian, yet he has a 'stache. This is impressive, of course, but not as impressive as Sanches being a mexican, yet also possessing a 'fro.

Nothing personal buddy! What I'm saying is try to look at all the fantasy match ups. Pac LOSSES them all.

    That simple.

    cheers!
