Woods would easily handle Cleverley, he had an off-night against Tarver but beat solid competition in Gonzalez, Hoye, Johnson etc.I can see Woods walking down Cleverleys combinations and punishing him with hard shots. For someone who won a battle of attrition with Glen Johnson, Cleverley is bread and butter. However lets see how both look in their next fights, Woods is getting on a bit which is the only problem.
Im gonna give Woods the benefit of the doubt and say he was ill. I thik if woods is still capable hed be too experienced for Cleverley and look for a stoppage late. Clev beats a shot Clinton though.
Woods wasnt ill against Tarver. They (his team) even had him checked out afterwards. Basically he just went to sleep at he first bell.
Woods was a light heavy version of Hatton but not protected. Cleverly is an ok domestic prospect but nothing special.
i think woods takes clev to school at the minute.... clev is a prospect for sure, but largely untested and not a puncher either, clinton would beat him inside for me..
woods is a terrific ffighter calling him a weak belt holder is inappropriate if thats the case how do u judge glen johnson the man who woods beat 2x so whoever says he's **** needs to get the **** out of here cleverly is a very special fighter he could be joe calzaghe number 2, he's an intellgent crafty guy with awsome ring smarts, his power seems to be developing nicely as well
Cleverly has done nothing to suggest he is capable of beating Woods. Beating Tony Oakey and an afrobum does not put you in the same league as Clinton Woods.
My Local news (Look North) reported after the Tarver Fight that Clinton was suffering from a mild form of meningitis just before that fight which may explain things. I guess we'll see if he really has lost his legs in his next fight
I think Woods beats Cleverly fairly easliy at the moment. Cleverly hasn't proven himself yet. And I'm assuming that the Tarver fight was a just a bad night for Clinton.
Cleverley is getting set up for a Khan-esque fall. His chin is very shaky! Any decent boxer with half a dig is going to be able to get the sums right. Woods stops Cleverley.
