I can def. feel where your coming from. Arum's probably gonna start doin this **** too often too. IMO, he must be satisfied with the way all those JC Chavez Jr. "mini" PPV's are turning out.

Only do say 50-75 K buys, but if no net work is involved, **** to him is probably just as easy as selling that many more tickets.

3 legit titles on the line, plus an attractive undercard.Don't see what is so hard in this sell.Top Rank doesn't overprice their product.I will buy,if my local pub doesn't show it.

Too bad Lopez won't be fighting Marquez. I can't find any site that says Lopez is even going to fight on that day. If Lopez does fight, it will be against some overmatched mando. Personally, I'm not interested in seeing Calderon run around the ring for 12 rounds. From my point of you, even if Benny is right in saying that Calderon and Lopez will be on the card, I see 3 mismatches and a track meet.

That's exactly the point. It's not even worth HBO consideration, but Bob Arum knows both Cotto and Pavlik have a fanbase that would not want to miss any fight they are in. So he puts it out PPV by his own brand, not HBO/Showtime/etc.. and sells a few extra tickets to the folks at home.:yep

Top Rank knows this won't do 100 K but ****, they'll be glad to take an extra 75.:deal

I'll be ordering, no doubt. Cotto is my favorite fighter, and Pavlik is one of my favorites too. I have no problem shelling out a few dollars for cats who have consistently delivered throughout the years. They're both in against opponents they should easily dispose of (Cotto more so than Pavlik.) But they're also both coming off of devastating losses, so anything can happen.

I've seen a couple Top Rank PPV's that were like $19.95 and I've not noticed one higher than $30.00. Could be wrong, but it's nothing like what HBO charges for one of their productions.

Just expect to have "Slater" from "Saved By The Bell" doing the commentary!:lol::lol:

This is from Dan Rafael's blog from a month ago.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3746763&name=rafael_dan

Arum said he closed a deal Thursday morning with British promoter Frank Warren for Michael Jennings to face Miguel Cotto on Feb. 21 in the first half of Top Rank's split-site pay-per-view card. Cotto and Jennings will fight for the title left vacant by Paul Williams. Arum also said the fight, originally ticketed for Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., could instead wind up at New York's Madison Square Garden. The first three televised bouts will include Cotto and two other bouts from that venue. Arum said candidates to fight on that portion of the show are junior featherweight titlist Juan Manuel Lopez, who defends his title Saturday night, and junior flyweight champ Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon. The main event from Youngstown, Ohio, is middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik defending against mandatory challenger Marco Antonio Rubio.

With Lopez and Calderon it's tempting. Pavlik/Rubio has zero interest for me. Cotto/Jennings is an important moment in Miguel's career, and it's hard to see missing that. I'll probably buy it at the last minute, but right now I don't like the idea.
