If the below article (press release ) is to be taken at face value. Froch is serious about fighting the very top of the division. Would be very interesting to see him in there with Taylor or Kessler. Bute Vs. Froch is probably not likely since Bute probably will have to face Sauerland fighter Mads Larsen.

    Article from the scene:
"Unbeaten WBC super middleweight champ Carl Froch wants the big names in 2009. At age 31, Froch feels that he needs to step on the gas and move his career forward at a high speed. After a fight of year battle with Jean Pascal to win the title in December, he wants to make his first defense against one of the three biggest names in the division. Jermain Taylor is Froch's mandatory challenger, but HBO, so far, has not shown interest in picking up the fight.
If Froch is unable to defend against Taylor, he would like to unify the title against WBA champ Mikkel Kessler or IBF champ Lucian Bute. He is also willing to travel to America to fight Taylor or another top contender.
“I want to get straight in there with a top contender before I go off the boil. I think the Pascal fight has done a lot of good for me. We had such a good tear-up, we both came away with a lot of credit. It would be nice to establish myself as a world champion, but I'm 31 so there is no time to waste. I'm happy to fight the likes of Taylor or Lucian Bute or Mikkel Kessler. I don't believe in having easy fights,” Froch told The Times Online .
Froch suffered a rib injury during his training camp for the fight with Pascal. The injury took some hits during the actual fight and Froch probably won't see action until April in order to properly heal.
“It's taken ages for my rib to calm down,” Froch said. “It was fractured and that doesn't heal overnight. I've only just been able to start sleeping on that side. I was sore before the fight. I could have had an injection in it, but I didn't fancy the needle in my ribs. It was killing me during the fight.”

He likes to talk a lot.He always does.
He has to figth 2 mandatories now anyway.
No Kessler,no Bute(who he refused to fight in 2007 anyway) and maybe Taylor if those ****ing american tv channels would pick the damn fight.

Froch has the right mind state. He's basically dissing everyone in the division, and asking for the top guys.

Kessler has already approached him for a unification fight. Froch's manager Hennesy said so live on UK TV (the clip is on youtube).

If Froch REALLY want to fight the best (and not just talk about it) then just sign on the dotted line.

I don't have a source for it,maybe the canadians do.The figt was suppose to be an eliminator for the IBF title and Froch went and fought Tatevosyan after Bute just beat him.
Bump or search for the ''IBF's offer to Froch'' thread to see the situation,it's documented there.I am not lying if that is what you are implying.Search for that thread.

You don't need to recall anything,I do and I doubt you'd know anything about boxing outside Missisippi.
Check the damn thread to see.

I'm not implying your lying. I just hoped that you had a source or an article. I'm feeling a bit too lazy to scour the web right now. I believe you though. Froch camp has a history of talking a load of bollocks :rasta

Never heard about Froch turning down Bute. I honestly think that's bull****, no offence to you thunder I just think whatever the source is they have misquoted. I can't see why Froch would turn down a world title shot, particularly with time running out, and then take on a guy who the title holder has just beaten.

What I do however know, is that Bute and Froch were once supposed to face off in a WBC title eliminator, back in I think March or April of '07. Bute however for whatever reason decided to chase Alejandro Berrio and the IBF title instead.
