Absolutely great call. I replayed this at least ten times, each time bursting into laughter. If I hadn't been reclined in my chair when I first saw it live, I would have fallen off.
I seem to remember one match where one guy was clowning around. He was running around the ring, jumped on the third rope and then wanted to jump back. As he was jumping to turn around, he got punched in mid air and got knocked into the ropes... I still can't believe that guy was not dq'd for acting like an ass.
You're both wrong. It was Roger Mayweather. He and Pea had bad blood pre-fight and then in the ring. Roger even scored a KD on Pea, but Pea dominated the rest of the fight, including tugging on his trunks when they were fighting on the inside. And this was only Pernell's 12th fight!
Yes, you read my mind. I was watching Trinidad-Joppy in a Sportsbar, and I swear when Trinidad landed a clean hook, Joppy did a ****ing backsault. I was in shock, and the people at the bar as well. The Morrade Hakkar fight was priceless, and says it all about the Legacy of Bernard Hopkins as a Middleweight.
That certainly was a fun fight to watch. Mayweather Sr was always good for a fun fight. A lot of the Jorge Paez fights from latter on his career got by on comedy only.
Chris Eubank used to have me in stitches. His fight against Dan Sherry with Sherry trying to imitate him as well as his acting on the whole headbutt thing was surreal and hilarious. Eubank was a legend and a camp comic genius and he did it to a background of booooooooooooooo!!
