Recently saw a video of some dude interviewing Freddie Roach where he was discussing different prospects in the wild card like khan, dean byrne, craig mcewan etc etc and he refered to the fact that Arlovski has been training with him for couple years on his boxing, that he really rates him and likely that Arlovski will switch to box full-time after his fedor fight. hes an explosive athlete, carries a lot of weight and throws sharp, fast straight techical punches.Considering the lack of depth at heavyweight and the lack of talent of guys that are there, whats peoples thoughts on his chances if he does go?

I'm a big fan of AA and train MMA myself and in all honesty prefer the sport to boxing.

That said there is a huge difference in being a good MMA striker and a world class boxer and as the guy above me mentioned Andrei hasn't got a great beard at all.

AA would make little to no impact in pure boxing but in K1 i think he could do quite well.

His resume is very impressive if you discount the Sylvia loses which you can't.

I think he could be successful in boxing but not Championship level it to late for that if that was his first choice he probablly couldve mastered boxing.

Why not ? Everyone losses fights. Sylvia in a 2 time Champ hes defeated alot of top guys Rothwell,Monson,Vera,Ricco ETC and Andrei already has a Sylvia win an impressive one at that.

AA is one of my favorite fighters but he would stand no chance of making an inpression in boxing.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but he doesn't have the greatest chin; the video of Datsik, the bat**** crazy Russian knocking him out comes to mind, I will try to post it when I get to a real computer.

Obviously that fight alone doesnt mean too much, I think it was his first, but he has also been completely iced by Pedro Rizzo; again not saying that means be is chinless, but he doesn't have a great chin to make up for his relative lack of boxing refinement compared to top boxers.

Then there is the matter of him not being anything special when it comes to boxing skill; he is an above average mma "boxer" but not that above average.

To top it all off he is making more money now than all but the biggest name boxers; he might somehow be able to milk the "mma vs boxing" gimmick for one big payday but it won't be that big and he will lose to any serious contender.

Forget about it. AA fell in love with his standup a loooong time ago. His hands are good for MMA but in boxing forget about it. His chin is absolutely horrible. As for the Datsik fight that was a bad joke. Im sure Datsik was mentally ******ed but it made no diffrence as despite his ****** antics in the cage he KO`ed Arlovski cold.
